RIP Billy Mays, I think he was a true professional at his job and even though there are a lot of jokes about him and etc. I think it's because he was so good at what he did that he was so well-known. I think everyone should tone it down on the jokes, it's rude and not to mention Manifesto7 will ban-hammer all of you.

You have to start thinking outside the box a little man... Every one of your recent posts has missed something minor that don't necessarily have to make 100% logical sense. My personal understanding of why this post made sense is the following: What would you say if lots of celebrities or famous people were dying in a short span of time? "That's a shame," "The world is an emptier place," etc. Notice... Their deaths affect the world, maybe not directly, but they affect the world more than say my death or yours. What the fuck is this world coming to, now that so many famous people are dying? It's not used in the traditional sense, of course, but still. It's kind of like a knee-jerk reaction post, that isn't completely out of the range of logic. If all the members of Pink Floyd died and not too far from each other, I would think "What is the world coming to? Where are all the good musicians now, the ones that are not dead?" I think this is kind of similar.

At least, in the context of this thread, I'm referring to a specific trend that has been developing on tl and I wouldn't have said anything if this situation were found in isolation. Pretty much any time something bad happens in a news article someone posts "what is the world coming to" so I jump when I see it.

I can understand if it's used excessively and you try to combat it because it makes everyone look like a bunch of aging yuppies, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a nonsensical reason.
