The guys were probably just acting tough. I didn't see the movie until like 10th grade, and I thought it was a good movie. It's really sweet, really innocent, and who doesn't like giant rabbit/cat/teddy bear? mix. I can see how it'd capture the imaginations of little kids. Cat bus ftw.

actually that's EXACTLY why I loved it so much, it gives me ample time to just enjoy the scenic and the magical environment. :3
I'm taking japanese classes. On this next weekend our sensei told us we're gonna have a special activity during class: learn and sing Tonari no Totoro during class. lol ^^
I personally had never heard of it before if it wasn't for my girlfriend who lived in Japan when she was little and asked me to download it. I never watched it during my childhood. But I still liked it when I did :p

となりのペドロ ftw
Does anyone actually get that lol, not enough gintama watchers.
Now, evan, watch Grave of the Fireflies. It is meant to be watched as a set with Totoro! (Or something else, I just recall them airing the two side by side)

They thought Totoro wouldn't be popular enough as a standalone, iirc.
....
So they put this happy childhood movie with the most depressing animated film of all time.
