Did you change isp's or have you determined its not them? Something must have changed with your computer or network/isp settings. I play over wireless almost 100% of the time and I rarely lag. Once out of every 30 games or so I might have an issue.

But im still not 100% sure its my ISP and they are still refusing to send a repair technician claiming that everything checks out on their end. Thats why I want to figure out if maybe i missed something before i go and switch ISP's to a slower isp only to find out i have the same problem. @h3r1n6 Normally I have MSN running and opera browser but I have tried running without anything turned on, including any antivirus or firewall

I always thought if you said you were switching they would bend over backwards for you but i guess thats not the case. Ah that sucks haha. We had optimum online through cablevision along with their cable and phone package... when we decided to switch to verizon fios, we called them after the switch to inform them we were leaving and they went apeshit about trying to keep us XD

I am in the same boat as you, I currently cannot play on ICCUp without lag. and on bnet I cant join a game with more than 2 people in it or itll lag.

I redid half the wiring after verizon came (my dad helped) so that we could place the router in the basement where my computer is. My dad helped me play games with the coaxial cable so I could make the trip from the computer to the router only a few feet. Prior to that, I ran a cat 5e ethernet cable along the corner of the room (between floor and wall) three rooms away to where my computer was. I'm not sure if I understand what you are asking me though...

basically, if you still lag when wired T_T change your ISP ....seriously. the only question is how much persuasive power you have over your parents. since my parents don't have any web issues, never in a million years would i be able to persuade them to switch ISP. so i have to go wired when i can...but for that, my dad needs to be away for a long time because i need to go upstairs and unplug the router//modem, and replug it downstairs..it drastically reduces the time i can devote to SC ^_^ which may or may not be a good thing.

When it lags it shows the names of everyone in the game on the drop screen, it lasts about 5-10 seconds each time. Very rarely it lasts the entire 45 seconds and I drop. I've tried a bunch of stuff to fix it but im open to any ideas you guys might have. Thanks. Im on xp and I am using wireless. Router is a Dlink-1310 and the ports are forwarded. If it is systematical lag, I highly doubt it is your ISP. most likely a software or configuration problem.
