NeverGG don't let anyone bring you down like that. You are an amazing photographer. Your shots of progamers and from Seoul are very unique and you can almost feel the emotion of the moment when you look at them. I don't know how you do it, but you do.
The first time I saw your photos were from the streets of Seoul of the trinkets and foods available on the street. The intensity of those photos made me reminisce about my times in Korea and how great they were. Definitely brightened my day.
The fact that you are a lone white woman in Seoul attending all these events only shows bravery. Trust me I know how annoying and intimidating it can be to be in a very populated area in Seoul (especially those progamer events) being white. You get non stop stares and while I personally love the stares I can equally see how it can be very annoying to a girl and/or someone whos there trying to do a job professionally. Props to you for not only taking the time to attend all these events but moreso props to you for putting up with all that crap just to deliver mostly un-grateful people these wonderful pictures.
What Chill said was merely a wrong choice of words. He wasn't calling you creepy by any means. He was just suggesting that making progamers do things that they otherwise wouldn't specifically want to do in funny/weird/gay poses isn't his idea of a good shot. What he wants is professional shots of progamers naturally in action; whether it be on stage, or after a game in happyness or sadness, or with their friends. Chill was trying to give you a little bit of constructive critisim as Rekrul stated but I guess he didn't say it as nicely as he could have. Trust me Chill meant no harm and he also does a lot of great stuff for our community as you do. I'm sure he appreciates your photos just as much as I do.
And even if he was being mean to you (which he wasn't), fuck him, fuck the hataz! Don't let anyone that doubts you stop you from doing your amazing work. For every person out there voicing their negative opinions about such great work there are hundreds who love it and enjoy it but just don't bother telling you about it because they are too lazy. This is the internet afterall :D
Cheer up, and keep doing the great work you do.

Kerry, you KNOW everyone here enjoys your pictures, you bring a lot more to the table than the typical Fomos ones. Most of the time the players don't care what you ask them to do, they just do it. That already shows that THEY don't find it creepy, in fact, I'm sure they have fun having these shoots with you.
Don't take what you read on these forums to heart - for every "negative" or "criticizing" comment that's posted, there are at least 5-10 positive ones that haven't been posted. Chill is definitely not one to be a hater, like Legionnaire said, I think he just worded it wrong. Or maybe Chill just likes boring pictures cuz he's a boring guy, who knows?
@dan be nice.

I'm a little more awake and calm by now so I thought I'd attempt to explain myself and what I'm trying to do - as well as why I don't enjoy having my work labeled as creepy:
Just for the record Slashimage did that heart pose with Myungsoo/Chansoo long before I did it with Frozean/FBH - neither of whom I'd call kids. Jaedong standing with a fist is normal - but it's something fomos does *all the time* which for me makes it boring and repetative. Therefore I've been trying to do things that aren't inside the comfort zone of typical gamer photos.
I'm sorry if you think it is creepy, but I'm just trying out different styles of photo - if I did fist poses every time like fomos does not only would it make it pointless me even going because I'd be providing the same photos as people with superior cameras it'd also mean people would get bored of my work quickly.
The way you phrased it implies that you believe I'm creepy for taking photos like that - so next time you have some constructive crit please think about giving me examples so I can improve my work instead of just calling my work 'creepy' and asking for 'normal' and 'standard' poses - that covers a (small) range of poses none of which I really want to repeat.
@legionnaire - thank you for the comments. I often let crit get to me and I'm trying to toughen up, but it is difficult given that I do get treated quite badly by certain groups of fangirls simply for being there (I've never spoken to these girls or gotten in their way otherwise.) and I cannot really connect with the fans at the events because we don't speak the same language. I am also often singled out for being filmed along with people who have just turned up for the day and as someone who has been working hard on bringing photos to everyone for almost a year now it is a bit frustrating to have my nationality *still* being such a big issue with some people.
@lilsusie - I like to think they enjoy the shoots too - I only really do more unusual shoots with players I have been working with for a long time such as OGN Sparkyz players like Changhee and Sangmoon or newer players who seem disposed towards more daring shots such as Jaegeol or Kyungmin. I wouldn't force a player to do something they were obviously uncomfortable with and as people have seen on the video of me shooting at OSL eventhough I am business like and a bit brisk at times due to constraints on schedules I still make sure to chat to the gamers and be polite. (I'm also on hand to rescue them when things get slightly crazy.)
I apologise for the tone of some of the photos, but a percentage of my work is also for the Korean communities. I have recently found out my photos are not only going onto some gamers' cyworlds (mainly those of eSTRO and the former eSTRO CS team.) but they're also being used at KTF's daum cafes (I found out via an English speaking Korean fan who found my work here apparently.)
Therefore, I'm working to two audiences - younger girl fans who enjoy cuter poses and also the male majority here who prefer more serious shoots on the whole. If you check my newest work (especially the latest OGN shoots.) there is a clear division between the two styles used in an attempt to please as many fans as possible whilst providing a varied range of ideas/angles and moods.
Next time something like this happens I will take it on the chin and just ask for some examples in an attempt to improve the quality of my work on the run up to upgrading my camera.

you usually make the players do really creepy / awkward things
There is no way to interpet that as "you are creepy", but I'm sorry I said anything nonetheless. Keep up the good work as everyone loves your pictures.
