So I took a test recently, and I discovered I'm about 75% right-brained. I'm also a leftie, it is true that a majority of left-handed people tend to be right-brained, so I guess I fit that curve. Anyway, pretty much everything the test described was almost spot-on correct on my mannerisms in life. I dislike linear, repetitive things, and I dislike the teaching methods employed in schools. I can't even concentrate one thing, and I often distracted very easily. So I searched google for possible careers that cater to right-brained people and famous people that were right-brained people.
What do I get? Famous people: Mostly painters and a guy named Leonardo Da Vinci.
Possible careers?
Peot
Something liberal arts related
An art career
Forest ranger (LOL)
I got a little pissed off, because I want to become an actual scientist and I know pull off something major, (at least I think), because I'm actaully quite adept at using my left-brain somewhat. LoL at forest ranger, anyway are any you of guys right-brained and do you know any famous figures, or actual people that you know that are quite successful and use the majority of their right-brain?

most of those tests are bullshit. Just because some internet website says careers that "right sided brain" people get, doesn't mean you have to.

More like non-verbal abstract things, so in a little way yes. But its also the root of a lot of creative ideas, and ideals.

I think the way your brain works (with respect to right brain vs left brain) is actually very complicated. I don't think you should let a test that gives you some simplified explanation of how you use your brain dictate what you do. Use judgments about things you have observed in life, and how they relate to things you want to do. For example, I am good at math, so I want to do something that involves using math skills. Rather than say, I am good at math, so I must have a well developed X section of the brain, and generally people with well developed X sections of the brain do something that involves math skills.
Simplified example of course, but I think it illustrates the point.

This sounds like it could be straight out of the horoscope in a shitty newspaper. I mean if you asked 10 people if they liked "linear, repetitive things" then like 9/10 will say no cause you've given no context on what these "things" are.
I wouldn't read to much into it.

While most of the things I describe wasn't the entire thing, there were lot of things inside it, the traits described are the common elements of right-brained people. Also, it says I am very over-imaginative and fantasy propelled which is right.

Somewhat off-topic: I've heard of someone that had to have one half of their brain removed through surgery at an early age, and, interestingly, the side of your brain remaining adapts and takes on the roles of the deceased half. So, one half does work for a complete brain. Shows how our brains can adapt lol.

Dude, dont read to far into this stuff. This sort of thing is for people who cant make up their mind about what they want to do, so they take a test and it points them in a possible direction. Its not something set in stone. And definitely not something you should be concerned over if it contradicts your planned future.
