Prozingis and Holiday aren't world beaters, but the fact that Boston had anything resembling a 3rd and 4th option made heaps of difference. An accidental moneyball superteam? Nah. The J's aren't moneyball maniacs, just super good. Celtics are basically a pure front office win of an accumulation of something about a decade of high level choices. Its like if the Mavs had been making PJ Washington level trades for a long time (they haven't the team kinda sucks around Luka).

This was easily my favorite tweet of the night. Lebron is pulling a Delonte West. In other news, yay Lebron locked up for another 2 years now! It'll be nice to see Lebron get to retire with his son at the same time.

One of my fun shower-thoughts questions: Who was the best coach/player? The names I have are Phil, Don Nelson, Pat Riley and Doc Rivers. I don't think Bird meets the game minimum, COY or not. Even more disgustingly he was raw dogging it and knocked her up several times!

Fred Vanvleet and Nikola Jokic are near genius level players and their IQ was either ignored or incorrectly assessed. If Bronny has their intelligence level he can carve out a career in the NBA.

Jokic was always a prospect. He went pro at 17 and by 18 was scoring 11 PPG and grabbing 6 rebounds against adults. These are not similar to Bronny. He was under 5 PPG at USC.His most exciting season as a player was probably his freshman year at Sierra when he average 4 PPG, but often showed flashes scoring in the high teens. His next two years were pedestrian and as a Sr. he averaged 15 PPG while leading his HS to relegation out of the highest division, getting their ass handed to them by rival Notre Dame by over 20 in all 4 outings.

He would routinely take over the game. Bronny never showed dominance at any level. His freshman year he was a key contributor off the bench for Wichita State's final 4 team, then he had oustanding sophomore and junior campaigns and his early senior year was hobbled by injuries, he led the Missouri Valley (probably the best mid major conference) in assists all 3 of those years. And he ultimately led the team to a sweet 16 run. He also showed an uncanny ability to secure steals through his career. Jokic was always a prospect. The media tries to sell us on the myth that human beings are some kind of finished product at age 19. They are not. It is debatable whether or not Bronny has more pure athletic ability than FVV. We'll find out much more info on that in two years. I'm guessing Bronny has better pure athletic ability than Fred VanVleet. A lot of FVV's accomplishments you listed occurred at an age when he was older than Bronny. The accomplishments you listed before age 20 are not impressive. One thing you forgot. FVV led the Mississauga Raptors to the G-League title at AGE 23. FVV did not start making any meaningful games in the NBA until after turning age 24. Bronny turns 20 in October. Like FVV , Bronny will have to develop and dominate in the G-League in this early 20s. 1 thing that an inferior athlete in the NBA requires is killer instinct. FVV grew up under brutal circumstances. Bronny has lived a life of luxury. Watch Fred talk.. watch Bronny talk. If you had to bet who has a more killer instinct.. would it be Fred or Bronny? I'm taking Fred.

Literally the first one I listed was his very good HS Sr. Year and then the 1-1 comparison of their freshman year of college. Do people develop after 19? Yes. I'm still not holding my breath about a kid with a 20 on the ACT winning a Fields medal.

FVV was on a non guaranteed deal with a 50K UP front bonus. He went up and down between the G league and the NBA 16 times in his first year. He had zero leverage and had to do whatever the Raptors requested. Fred was in do-or-die mode from the minute he signed with the Raptors. Bronny will probably not bring Fred's level of intensity to the G league or any other league.
