Matches vs OG, Nigma, VP and Mudgolems remaining. Assuming that Viking beats Error and OG looses to Secret the game between OG and Liquid could very well shape up to be the match that decides who of the two drops out.

Sounds not very realistic unless Taiga really wanted to build up a team from the very beginning. If I had been informed that zai and Matu joining my squad + Micke and Insania, I would have accepted any offer from Liquid. On paper, this squad should make it to every Major and therefore, have a realistic shot at going to TI11. Especially, considering that OG is a team with a lot of questionmarks currently and probably have to grind it out during the season.

Fully agreed to this, the new OG roster doesn't look nearly as strong as tl's lineup on paper. That being said I always feel like 4s are the mvp on rosters because they just have a ton of impact if they have a good game and it somewhat comes with the position. Similarly to how I always feel that #3s are underperforming. Like I could name 4 or 5 4s that I think have the potential to be the best player in the world and at this point I just have to assume that it's bias for the position and I'm not good enough to evaluate all the other subtle ways other positions have impact. On another note there could be multiple other reasons, f.e. maybe Zai wanted to mainly go back to support after playing 3 for so long. Or the squad just clicked better with Boxi.

True, the amount of world class - players on the 4-position is exceptionally high in the western scene. gh, Cr1t, Saksa, Yapzor + to a lesser extent Sneyking and Taiga and now zai (probably) joining the position as well. Taiga was always a very greedy 4 and Boxi also needed farm to have an impact on his heroes, so one of them had to be sacrificied. If zai can have the same impact as 4 with the amount of farm he had in many games as a 3 on Secret and Boxi is getting farm priority, then this will heavily benefit Liquid in the next season. I am very excited to see how they will perform.

When he was streaming a week back he mostly played 3 heroes and Boxi was playing quite a bit of 4 in pubs...

Maybe we will see them swapping positions sometimes, something which they have done with Taiga as well. If boxi shall play only as a pos 4 and zai remains exclusively on 3, I do not see the reason why they have removed Taiga from the roster as I consider Taiga as a decent and proven pos 4 why boxi may require some time to adapt to his new position. Tomorrow we will see...

And just like that this squad is able to close out games in late game scenarios. Really glad for Matu that he showed one more time that you do not always need to be the most flashy carry player, but being one of the most versatile core player is the road to success. From farm heavy cores like Luna to his annoying heroes like Razor or playing "new" heroes like Slardar or Kunkka. This man can make them all work.
