hi guys,
im thinking of buying new guitar soon, most probably a classical (or an acoustic electric if its a fantastic deal), so i can play some acoustic stuff as well as some flamenco. i have no experience in buying classical or spanish guitars (only acoustic/electrics) and am a bit hesitant to purchase one.
my current acoustic is a takamine and i really love their tone, although ive heard that cf martin make great guitars also - but any brand will realistically be fine if its quality.
i was wondering, does anyone have any opinions or advice for me in selecting a brand/model? any stories to share regarding price, durability, sound etc? any dramas?
some details:
price: no more than 1000 (aus d) scale: doesnt really matter inlays: with or without frets: preferably rosewood but anything is fine
i will almost exclusively be playing fingerstyle, maybe strumming some chords and such with a pick but nothing more

Let me present you those guitars, made in Quebec, Canada where i live . They become very famous in the usa, i dont know about other countries, maybe you know them already, you should check for some of their guitars, like the multiacs series.
Its an acoustic/electric guitar, with pickups on the bridge under each string, so 6 pickups with their individual equalizer. Very good guitars.
Specs Mahogany neck Ebony Fingerboard 16" fingerboard radius 25 1/2" Scale 1 7/8" nut width Chambered Mahogany body Solid Spruce Top Custom RMC electronics with 13-pin connector for direct control of Roland GR Series and Axon AX100 guitar synths Natural High-Gloss finish
The only thing i dont know, is how much the price is for those types of guitar, here in quebec they are not too costly for the quality.
http://www.godinguitars.com/godinmultnylonseriesp.htm look at them, theirs a lot of types.
Edit : Judging by your nick, are you into jazz guitar too ?

yeah i like jazz guitar, but i alternate between my takamine and my ibanez for that
it appears that the site is unavailable right now, ill check it out as soon as it comes back, thanks for your help!
do they sell any spanish guitars?
|
I dont think so, but watch out with spanish guitars, i got one like 2 years ago, and it got fucked up because of the hard winters and mega-humid summer we have here. So watch out if you buy made in spain, well australia has a bit less extreme temperature.
What is you ibanez, mine is the john scofield signature

its an rg7321, electric guitar 7string pretty solid guitar
ooo scofield, hes great - how much was it?
edit: oh, i thought you meant jazz guitar as in the style, not the actual guitar
