Might start ED Trickster and transition into something chaos converty later on for big dmg, but I've also started with ED/Contagion like 3-4 times now... Hmm

Also the first league in a while where I'm more excited about trying new CONTENT than I am about trying a new build/skill. Which is maybe why I'm feeling the urge toward playing something solid and that I'm familiar with, and it's not bothering me like it usually does.

I'm kinda lost on what i want to Play, I used Stormbrand a few leagues ago as a "sidespell" to have some extra clear on the go for a spell-dmg focussed Character and it seemed really nice but afaik it got nerfed since then?

Hoping to grind out 36 challenges, but a bunch of them are a pain (been a few leagues since I've captured a bestiary boss, and no luck with a Beachhead so far this league), and it'll be hard to do a number of the fiddly challenges as a summoner, even if I can probably finesse some with a Mark of the Red Covenant. I totally burned out not long after this - got busy with a new job/relaysh/etc; had made it to ~34 challenges but was either going to be grinding out master missions or respeccing from summoner to something that could get a bunch of the "defeat boss by hopping on one leg blindfolded while not DPSing for 10 secs" challenges, ah well. Missed all the exciting Exilecon stuff despite living in the same city Excited for new Atlas mechanics, kinda w/Duka on this one: On December 09 2019 11:43 Duka08 wrote: Yeah that's true but the trade off always feels way steeper than melee imo. I'm really only considering it because of the new supports and ballistas and all that, just cuz new. In no other league or circumstance would I ever consider starting bow just based on personal experience and preference, so that's probably my answer. I'm just starting POE, i played 1 character this past month up to doing T2 map, and I would like to restart when the next season start this week. Any recommendation on a site with build to fallow ? I did a ranger/bow and I would like to try some kind of summoner.

There are many, any of the Ranger ones work well, you can go Shadow and Assassin or even Trickster if you wanna use a poison skill. Then you could go Duelist and use Slayer/Champion for a phys bow build, and even the Marauder and other classes can work if you know what you're doing. As a starter, I'd rather go Ranger and probably Deadeye or Raider. Zizarian's and Mathilification's youtube channels. They post builds that they think will be good for the next league, a few days before the actual league starts. https://www.youtube.com/user/Mathilification https://www.youtube.com/user/Pcchild88 2nd: The official forums. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-forum/22 Crazy, am I right? They actually DO have some pretty nifty threads detailing builds on specific class forums that are updated every league with changes. I assume you'll want a witch to be a summoner, but have a look around at the different classes and ascendencies as well. 3rd: https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds If you don't mind starting a little slow/later than average going there and cherry picking exactly what you want will show you EXACTLY what people are running. Their gear, skill point distributiion, etc.

There's a lot of quality of life things you get with Raider (Ignore Elemental Ailments, high evasion, phasing, Onslaught) that makes them pretty good when you are getting the hang of things.

Gonna have to wait for patch notes/lvl 20 gems to see that tho. in my experience, bow characters are very gear dependent, so while you can eventually become tanky and strong, it takes longer compared to builds like summoner or ED contagion the exception is stuff like toxic rain, explosive arrow, elemental hit. I'm looking at one of those for league start maybe... I really don't like bow starting though. guess just have to have good judgement and pick the overtuned skill xD

I think since there are not many ways to reduce chaos res, so higher chaos res on bosses sucks a lot for chaos builds. Also I'm quite unsure how higher monster armour will feel, I could imagine it to end up horrible for phys skills that hit fast (Cyclone, Barrage?).

I mean this game has the most complicated endgame I've ever encountered anyway and now it gets even more complicated? How on earth can someone new to the game and its mechanics understand this? I don't want to read for hours on end how to do stuff. I wanna jump in for an hour or 2 and get stuff done and have a sense of accomplishment :/ I really wanna get into this but this seems like a huge obstacle in addition to the freakishly complicated builds and character development. How did you guys get started?

How did you guys get started? Don't think too much about what happens later. The game is pretty simple if you borrow a build in the beginning of a league and just want to get through maps. Pick a guide with some leveling advice. Usually it doesn't seem worth it to get too deep into league specific content either. Most things before end-game is probably just optimizations and don't matter too much for the casual and/or beginner.
