To me, it looks like he really misjudged the distance to Snow's expansion.
My reaction to seeing that was comparable to say, if a zerg went 9pool speed, made 10 lings first, protoss saw that, protoss countered by not just building 3 cannons in his natural, but literally 7, and zerg then going 'well I kinda committed to my speedling build' and then building another 16 lings and attacking with 28 of them. That's the level of stupidity displayed in the sparkle game.

Not to mention that Mini did send the shuttle to initially scout the expo.
If he had simply unloaded his units back in his base, he could've defended against the drop (or Snow wouldn't even have dropped). Just let the shuttle die. It's a BO disadvantage, but by no means an unwinnable position.
I guess his brain just went into some denial mode and just blanked out.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't opening robo on Sparkle quite a risky opening to began with? The standard opening should be Stargate corsairs. So what was his build trying to blind counter?
opening robo is fine I think. All build orders on sparkle are risky in one way, as there's no recon pre-sair or shuttle. Like opening nexus first is better than not-nexus first if you don't get punished by a fast drop. fast dt or zealot drop can win the game if your opponent goes for a risky build and sends first scouting unit the wrong way.. pvp on island against an equally skilled is an extreme version of rock paper scissor, because you'll lose if you do a safe build against a greedy build, you'll lose if you do a greedy build against a risky build, and you'll lose if you do a risky build against a safe build. Except the randomness of scouting patterns adds like another rock paper scissor even after that initial build order decision. Zvz and tvt are much less bad in this regard, because overlords and floating barracks will at least let you know where the other player is, but pvp there is really random.
But getting screwed by the randomness is no excuse for what happens when he gets scouted by the sair and it starts attacking his shuttle while his shuttle is still in his main base.. there's no defense for this. Accept that you lost your first shuttle and don't try to go again until you have speed. Might as well have just said gg the second he was scouted and left the game, I'd have more respect for that tbh.
I think mini really screwed up game 4, he was obsviously shaken at that point.
Also, SnOw has some real luck with his scouting=) He always get that perfect scout!
I guess the sparkle game would have looked a lot different had Snow not scouted him on the first try. Mini's build was more of a 66.6% scout. If Mini didn't find snow with the shuttlescout he'd try another location for his first drop, while Snow needed the 33.3% luck to make it that one-sided atleast.
Snow played it smarter and cooler, I think Mini is a force to be reckoned with but he needs a bit more experience from the big stage.

I bet Blizzard really wants Snow to win. Wish they'd shown mini after teh sparkle loss, usually they go to teh loser first, no? To me he is now TiltToss
Mini needs to learn how to stay calm and collected. his game is very good, there is no doubt about his talent. the biggest thing holding him back was himself.

Just want to add on my love for the game here, some of these BW games leading up to the final have been awesome... the back and forth midgame that makes BW so great has really shined in these games. Not so sure about the maps but I really hope ASL6 can continue the trend.
Is there any hope for a real BW European revival with Remastered in mind? I'm not sure if i'm just totally out of the loop.. wish people would at least get back into UMS/BGH as a way to get into 1v1 in the long run. I supported BW through the whole time SC2 has appeared and will continue to do so, i genuinely believe BW will outlast and prove to be the superior game as long as we can pass on our knowledge and passion in a genuine (not fake MLG) way.
Also - really sad for Mini and that mistake. Sad way to lose.
mini also made a big mistake in game 4 by misplaying the low hp shuttle along the front line of battle between engagements and losing it. snow on the other hand played it well by using the low hp shuttle as a fake harass.

BW is not truly resurrecting imo, its just a temporary thing, coz there are no new people coming and when these guys move on, the pro scene will die completely

Or just illegal betting things...
You're joking, right?
I'm pretty sure he was making a sarcastic comment aimed at all those posters who call matchfixing/betting on every loss (see other LR threads for info).

That's what I thought and meant, but you know, Poe's law. And I get badly triggered by random matchfixing accusations.
