People usually cite esportsearnings which splits money from team events equally amongst all member. IIRC Aligulac completely ignores team event

Lol not even close. 2018 wins by far. Even this final day was great, aside from Serral being in the semis, but well you cant have everything
Most of the tournament 2018>2017. But this final day was a bit lame. Serral Vs classic and rogue vs classic were disappointing. The only series worth watching was Maru Vs rogue and even that was a lot of allns and quick endings.

How did he win this?
I came back when queens and ravagers werre killing stuff in fron of Classic's natural, wtf
Classic went mass oracle and suicided them to queens and spores for 3 minutes.
Best player in the world by far right?
Yeah he is, that's why he's winning the same GSL from which Rogue got eliminated by Scarlett.
Is it really hard to understand that his motivation waned after winning $300,000 in 2017 and he needed time to get back into form?
Grubby and Madfrog had some very intersting things to say about this topic in the wc3 invitational. About finding motivation and getting back to playing well again after winning a huge tournament.
Madfrog said he was satisfied after one big win and being the best in world for a day, while Grubby said he couldn't play well for quite some time after winning a WCG.
I think this isn't an uncommon statement from esports.
I've heard plenty of players and teams from dota 2 after winning TI who just lost motivation afterwards(winning a million or more for each players helps that ) but there's rarely been a team who still does well afterwards. There was one team who just stopped practicing started playing mmos in place lmao
and then there's INnoVation who just doesn't care and wins tournament after tournament
I don't just mean "tournaments" since i've seen in all esports dominating teams keep dominating but rather the world championships.
Like TI winners(dota2), blizzcon winners(bunch of blizz games), worlds(LoL) winners etc
Artosis called Rogue a bonjwa? lol, I think it's impossible to brand anyone a bonjwa in SC2, because of the lack of a teamleague, and the nature of the game itself which doesn't allow for consistent periods of dominance. Plus, my personal take is that to be considered a bonjwa, you need to have at least won a starleague, and Rogue just bombed out of the GSL so yeah.

Lol 2017 was great over all, 2018 has a shity final day, and the final day is the last taste in the mouth. 2017 had an incredible final and great semi finals. 2018 isn't even close.

I don't know, I really enjoyed the 2 semis, only the finals was bad.

Other than 2-3 of the maru-rogues games, the ro4/final today wasn't really exciting

It wasn't tense and close, but both Classic and Rogue showed quality plays. Even Maru. I enjoyed today a lot. Just Serral was abysmal, but that was to be expected.
4-0 finals are not entertaining, out of how many players that have come and gone and the amazing games we have seen, the last series was the biggest anti-climax of the week.
The best finals have some kind of back and forth interaction, and when one player is just backed into a corner for 4 games it's just embarrassing.

Yeah it's unfortunate that a trash Serral somehow sneaked in into the final day. We get it.
