While the rest of the world is producing new, younger players (especially with the recent rule changes allowing young player like Reynor to participate), it is Koreans that have not producing any noticeable new player for a long time, in bw or starcraft 2. Much harder to break into the korean scene. There are some promising players like Prince or HHs but when you have to beat players who've had years of teamhouse practice just to qualify for an event you just can't break through. The only way to get to that level was getting recruited to a team and getting the teamhouse practice as well but that's not possible anymore. Foreigners stealing the remaining ro32 spots doesn't help.

Foreigners stealing the remaining ro32 spots doesn't help. It's also a matter of tournament infrastructure. If you look at Reynor's results, he's won or placed in the money for a lot of go4sc2, Proxy Tempest, Ladder Heroes and other smaller events. Tournaments where you'll see the occasional established player, but where the players who are not quite there can try to build themselves up and get the opportunity to compete. There isn't much of that for Korea.
