My intention was to avoid the Day9 casting discussion all together in this thread. This thread is cursed with non-relevant discussions.
I would like if the poster wanting more veteran casters to start a thread raising awareness of the importance of casters that have been with the community for a while and point out that we've been sacrificing exorbitant amounts of time to cast everything we possibly can for free. Even though I'm not one personally after money as I've reinvested anything I earned back into the community, we still need to find a way repay these guys. We need to not only support foreign BW players, but also start supporting foreign casters and finding a way to give back to them for their countless hours of devotion. Personally, I've recently changed my goals for the BW scene and that includes finding a way to sponsor casters and spark interest in commentating for all the events I have coming down the line. I hope that the poster could read this and feel inspired to find ways to support the veteran caster community too or think of ways where we could be more inviting to new high-skilled casters. Currently our caster pool is far too small and we really need more help at all levels non-ASL.

I have played this game competetive more than 15 years ago and have been watching streams since about 2011ish, waaaay before the current surge in casters and viewers. Calling me out because my TL account is "new" doesnt give you any credibility at all. Id say its a very weak argument, if you can even call it that.

Oh wait. You mean for example donations ? Like the donations i did (twice) for the alternate ASL2 stream on afreeca ? So, what you are suggesting, i already did. Twice. Unlike 99 % of the other guys in this community. Way to go calling me out :D

Please don't. There's not one person who needs the money so desperately. It gives false signals. Whoever does this out of devotion of the games cares for comments a lot more than he does for money. I can see an army of "aspiring" casters coming out of their corners, who do artificial hype and after a few months announce their great plans failed and it was all the community's fault and that the community was missing out.

I like this idea. Give me money. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
(But in all seriousness just donate to my tournaments if you wanna support me/casters.)
I do this because I love casting, not because of much else.

Ok guys, the coupon code should now be live!
|
In addition to directly donating money, we've got some rewards attached to the event. These are things you can buy (Dreamhack Atlanta tickets, mice, etc). These not only have some cool discounts on their prices, but part of the cost (and if you pick an item it will tell you how much) will go towards the prize pool of the event!

Can you post the link to matcherino where we can use the coupon code to contribute to the prize pool?

I wonder if we could hit $1k in prizepool by the end of the tournament...

Most people are in it for the money... I'm in it for the day9.

I'm surprised we were even able to get Day9 to cast this. It's hard for me to imagine a better person to cast an English BW tournament (other than maybe his brother Nick and Artosis). Can't wait!

honestly, I didnt even have to ask him (really). When I announced the tournaments and was asking who wanted to cast, he volunteered.

+ Show Spoiler +I know, your post was sarcastic. I just wanted to get the facts out there

There is one more fact I'd like to get out there. It is my lifelong dream to be casted by Day9.
