Our TLMC is in serious trouble. We don't have victories anymore. We used to have victories, but we don't have them. When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let's say, Crux in a map deal? They kill us. I beat Crux all the time. All the time.
When did we beat Korea at anything? They send their maps over by the millions, and what do we do? When was the last time you saw an SMA map in GSL? It doesn't exist, folks. They beat us all the time.
When do we beat Avex in a TLMC? He's laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now he is beating us economically. He is not our friend, believe me. But he's killing us economically.
The TLMC has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems.
Thank you. It's true, and these are the best and the finest. When Avex sends his maps, he's not sending his best. He's not sending Cloud Kingdom. He's not sending Ohana. He's sending maps that have lots of problems, and he's bringing those problems with us. He's bringing Eremita. He's bringing Blood Boil. They're imbalanced. And some, I assume, are good maps.
But I speak to players and they tell us what we're getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They're sending us not the right maps.

Info about the map:
What do map makers enjoy more than playing Starcraft? Watching Dota. Now it is possible to do both at the same time! As players battle their opponents on this map, the U.S. Border Patrol clashes with Mexican drug cartels in an epic game of Dota. Six locations serve as spawn points for the computer controlled forces, with Bunkers serving as towers. Waves of Marines are dropped in these locations by Medivacs, who are then sent to fight in three lanes.
※ Two Xel'naga Watch Towers. ※ 144x144 map size ※ Computer controlled factions are neutral passive, and will not interfere with the players. ※ If you spawn at the top right location, you share vision with the U.S. Border Patrol. ※ If you spawn at the bottom left location, you share vision with the drug cartels.

pure gold!
and there is a truth in that: angst, spatial complexity-axiety! i cannot put my finger on how or why exactly and how it corresponds to how sc2 devceloped since wol, but it alsmost seems even the stupidest player has to underestand the layout. it is not like that i favour a bad design over a readable design, but there is a trend to shy away from greater spatial complexities than let's say overgrowth. imo there is a fine line between over-simplification and good design and more often than not the players would rather pick the layout that appears to be more straight forward on first sight. lazyness probably?
so very well done tackling that problem! huuuge problem

So many good maps have been submitted to these map contest over the years, it's a shame that people feel the need to continue to make maps, while old but gold gems from 2012-2016 fall out of existence.

Starcraft is a game of strategy and we have to play whatever maps Blizzard gives us, meanwhile music is about preference and the consumption of the individual.
With music there is a vast variety of music available people can enjoy. Starcraft they pick like 3 maps out of maybe 20 in a contest, and the other 17 never get seen again. Maybe they get voted on by preference from a few hundred people out of the tens of thousands of people who play the ladder.
Some musicians sometimes do covers of older songs, but I doubt I would ever see Daybreak on the ladder re-textured as a jungle map.

This is what I like to call, a top kek.

Also you basically are just trying to hijack a map thread. If you feel there's some greater point that should be made, that's what the post thread button is for.
