It's stupid but falling is the best decision there since you're not likely to hit a decent shoot.

The refs still owed Spurs one from the Balotelli incident a few years ago!

Watched the highlights lol Walker is a genius

hmm I think even if he took the shot, it should still have been a penalty. Its different from cases when referee waves play on, as the player manages to compose himself abit for the shot. Sterling had no time to react from the push, and the push clearly ruined his shot.

Yeah it's absolutely a clear penalty, no discussion really. Whether the player falls or not doesn't actually have any impact on whether it should be a penalty - but this type of situation really backs up the argument from attacking players who are accused of falling too lightly. Sometimes, they have to fall to make the referee understand that a foul happened.

I still think if that was Aguero/Hazard etc a top player Messi/Ronaldo they still score that with the slight push. It is a penalty etc but im still confident even with the slight push he should not have ended up shooting it straight at keeper.

Ronaldo, Hazard and Aguero probably fall over, and Messi wouldn't lose balance.

I mean thats cool and all but I wudnt put an emphasis on slight. If you are running at pace and you get pushed unexpectedly it doesnt really matter who you are, the ball got caught in his feet at that point anyone on the planet is struggling. You are just hoping to get lucky. Every one of those players would go down as soon as they felt contact.
When you dont see contact coming its nearly impossible to adjust. It doesnt matter how much of a "top" player you are. All players are human and subject to the laws of physics.. some less than others but still.
Its actually nonsense to underplay this fact and suggest that Sterling could somehow be at fault because better players "might have succeeded despite the contact" .
Who cares? Bottom line is speculating what others players would have done is pretty meaningless.

Actually if there was no shove, I'd say lloris probably still saves it. Only cuz sterling is freaking shit with his finishing, and it'd likely use his crap left foot as well haha

Sterling tried to shoot, that probably avoided a penalty call. Would be unfair if he get another chance (penalty). It's always unfair if you get 2 chances to score from only one foul.

He wouldn't have gotten 2 chances. In fact, all he got was half a chance instead of 1 because of the shove.
Also sucky for Leicester. Goes to show how important 1 Kante is.

Jon Moss refusing to let Andre Marriner have all the attention! Another referee circus this weekend.

Ok I just started watching. Why is there 9 minutes of added time in the first half? I see Mason was injured - hope it wasn't the kind that required 9 minutes of stoppage time..

In fairness to jon moss he got all the decisions right i saw in second half. Clear penatly to Burnley and if his linesman did the job it was offside. However if it was not offside i would agree it is a penalty too. Shame really as i thought was going to be dream weekend for Chelsea
Costa shutting people up by doing what Costa does SCORE :D
1-0 Chelsea
2-0 victory is great, didn't play well second half but when Cesc comes off the bench to put it on Cahill's head like that well :D 8 points clear. Next 2 league games away to scouse and home to arsenal!
