UPDATE: NOW OPEN, GIVE YOUR FISH NAME AND I WILL ADD YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. You do NOT need to be online for me to add you, I only need your ID. /c list to see your current clan list, there will be a number beside every clan. If you're not in one, this will be Clan 1. /c set # ("#" being the number beside the clan) to set a specific clan as your default. /c m to message everybody online in the clan, it will show like this: <From: nS.euphOria> <4N> This is my first message, hello!
Hello! I am nS.euphOria on Fish Server. After much talk and many points I have decided to invest in a channel and clan system starting at 200 maximum members, if there's enough demand for it.
1. No laggers. If you lag, you're not in. I'm sorry but this is for the best.
2. You will not have to make a new ID. I understand stacking your first 20 or so games on Fish can be tough because Koreans kick blank accounts with foreign IP addresses, and some of us are already in clans. Not worth giving up an established clan for some English, right?
3. English and Korean only. I know not everybody speaks Korean, but it's Fish Server. I'll do my best to keep it minimal.
4. This will be a fam style clan, meaning we will not participate in Fish tournaments.
5. Assistance and support is always welcome, but that's not what the clan is about. If you're going to join exclusively for questions then leave, don't bother joining.

Would there be any organized method for acquiring ladder access? Right now it's all about connections and who you know in Korea as far as getting a ladder-compatible account. If this team offered some sort of service where we can connect with others and get this, I think it would be amazing. Not everyone has the knowledge of Korean/connections to make Fish viable, but if you attracted some people that could do this, I feel like foreigners would be much more likely to join in.

Im down. Thank you for thinking about us :D

For people to discuss StarCraft and other things in English while doing their normal thing on Fish.

Not to bump this or anything but votes here are pretty important, I have four days to decide this and if the poll keeps going this way I will disregard the idea.

I would be down to hang around. I am thirdeYe[3.33] on Fish.
However, I've been warned that foreignors aren't 100% welcome on Fish and they would probably question if we all had korean phone number accounts. I heard there was a crackdown on people selling ladder access at one point to foreignors.

Foreigners are welcome, I'll have to translate the admin response to foreign complaints later, but to TLDR "Foreigners are more than welcome if they learn Korean. 1v1 does not mean you can get by without knowing Korean, you make it hard for everybody.

Oh and thirdeye sorry about BestLeVel, he's a fucking jerk. I told him specifically not to ban you and he did anyway, I apologize on behalf of my clan's idiot moderator.
He's a temporary replacement.

it's still incredibly idiotic and racist

1) It's their server.
2) When they say "you make it hard for everybody," it means: a) For Koreans. 95%+ of the server, because they have no way of communicating with you. b) For foreigners like yourself, 5+% of the server, because you are looked down upon for not caring about understanding the server's preferred language.
It's like arriving in Germany, going to the place of their local low-level sporting organization, saying "당신과 당신의 선거구의 99.5 %는 당신의 관습에 따라 비 게르만 민족의 나머지 부분을 향해있는 것이 아니라," throwing your glove on the ground, walking out, and saying "look @ deez racists not du shit."
+ Show Spoiler +google translate: "You and the 99.5% of your constituency are not being just towards the rest of the non-Germanic peoples with your practices, this is just a test to everyone who has to check both because they are learning Korean for Fish pls."

This. Also I've played 1k+ games on Fish and can safely say that about 10-12 phrases will cover 95% of the instances that you need to speak Korean. Anybody can learn that much in a day so there's no excuse.
Also fucking lmao @ getting pissed off over Fish being a Korean language only server while posting on a website that explicitly states that English is the only language allowed on the forums.

It does not really piss me off, I never wanted to use the server. I do get that the main language is Korean and that they enforce using it when it comes to administrative things, e.g. reporting discs, hackers and whatnot. I'd be completely fine as player/user with this policy. Might be that's all to it, but for now, all I heard that the language is a must right off the bat, which I deem idiotic, as it prevents a ton of potentially positive projects, e.g. having the international community getting translators themselves. Actually playing games on a ladder does not require any fluency or understanding of Korean, so I really don't get the isolation-policy. In the past multi-language systems worked fine for servers/ladders as shown by WGT/PGT/ICCup pre 2010, for which the biggest barrier was the registration without personal data. The majority of players does not chat for ladder, or ever causes problems due to not speaking a language. You can basically exclude any user from the lobby if you think there'd be lag, especially if you see their IP. Therefore the forum comparison does lack substance, not to mention the reductio ad absurdum about the airport. Eventually it boils down to the "it's their server" argument, which also is fine. But it's also fine to have the opinion that their policy is an idiotic luxury, which is only affordable, because they have a somewhat solid player base for now.

I agree, It's not that hard to learn korean sufficient for fish usage

I think it's the right place to mention that in the ratio 75-25, players in fish server treat a foreigner like a piece of ***.
