Hey all. As everyone knows, with patch 3.7 we finally will have customizable announcers, that will warn us about nuclear launch, about spawning more overlords, about constructing additional pylons and other very important stuff.
In game UI you can listen to some voice examples, and it may become time consuming if you want to listen to other languages and to all announcer quotes. In this small guide you can download ALL announcers on any language without downloading gigabytes of localization data that you don't need, or extract them by yourself. Each announcer weight is somewhere like 2-3 mb.
Some information on announcers
Cost - $5 (US) each
Each announcer pack includes 12 languages
Each announcer pack includes quotes for all 3 races
All announcers, including default ones (Adjutant, Queen, Executor) got new quotes in patch 3.7:
"Our pylon is under attack"
"Unacceptable command, we're at maximum supply"
"A creep tumor is under attack" (added in one of previous patches)
"A new queen has emerged" quote voiced by default Queen announcer was already in game since WOL, but still not used right now. Quote line about new queen is only available in custom announcers, but not with default one (default Zerg announcer just plays Queen unit sound as it was before)
Each announcer have multiple lines of same quote. For example Abathur can tell you about not having minerals with THREE different quotes:
Right now every announcer have multiple lines of next quotes:
* Addon complete (2 quotes)
* Nuclear launch (2 quotes)
* Evolution complete (2 quotes)
* Vespene geyser exhausted (2 quotes)
* Maximum supply (2 quotes)
* Metamorphosis complete
* Mineral field depleted (3 quotes)
* Mutation complete (2 quotes)
* Need geyser (2 quotes per race)
* Need more food (3 per race)
* Need more minerals (3 quotes)
* Need more vespene gas (3 quotes)
* Not enough energy (2 quotes)
* Nuke ready (2 quotes)
* Queen deployed (2 quotes)
* Research complete (2 quotes)
* Upgrade complete (2 quotes)
* Warping complete (2 quotes)
* Workers are under attack (2 quotes per race)

How to listen to ALL announcer quotes before buying
Now lets talk about announcer quotes. Once you downloaded patch 3.7 which is approximately 500 mb, all announcer files will be on your PC in .ogg file format, which can be played by any media player, like AIMP.
Close Battle.net client and Starcraft 2. You are not editing game files, you just observing them, it is safe.
Open data folder, located here: ... \ StarCraft II \ SC2Data \ data
Wait till it loads everything
Inside CASC Viewer go to VO folder, located here:
On the right side you can double-click on any ogg-file to listen, or extract all files at once. You need to open ogg-files with names like: AbathurA_AddOnComplete00.ogg.
If you want other languages, go up a bit in that folder tree, and change to other folder (e.g. dede.sc2assets).
There are other ogg-files in that folder, and you have no problems with listening to them:
ogg-files that begin with "AICommunications..." are for AI allies in custom games
ogg-files that begin with "Alert_..." are new voice lines for default announcers (Adjutant, Queen, Executor) listed above.
If you are lazy to extract these announcers
I extracted all the announcers but I'm not sure Mediafire and Google.Drive have unlimited bandwitch, so you can download seven already extracted announcers, or extract them by yourself with instruction above.
Abathur lacks a bit of characters in his lines too much standard stuff. I was so exicited for this but meh. Not enough adapt, evolve and sequences references.
Alarak is super awesome, such great lines ' Your nuke is armed. Oh, I look forward to this' and 'Don't keep me waiting' when game is paused lol
Artanis is a more epic version of the normal protoss executor
D'va super annoying voice to me, the frequency hurts my ears, but very unique I guess xD
Kerrigan decent enough
Raynor is great, just love this voice actor for so long since the first starcraft game
Swann is pretty cool 'Hey, lay off my SCV's you jerk!'
Would be very cool if they have personalities do custom voice packs. I would love to listen to Apollo saying, "Spawn more cheeky cheeky overlords mate" or Artosis saying "Artosis Pylon complete!" when I finish building a pylon. This is great. Wish it had came out 5 years ago, but better late than never I suppose.

I don't care much for the new skins and voices but i'd be willing to pay 50 bucks for personality voice packs. ToD "Look at the supply!" Hell yeah.
Not to be a negative nancy, but they all sound disappointingly weak.
Just listen to the lines of the overmind in brood war such as "We require more vespene gas." or "Evolution complete." They're raw, brutal, vicious. The opposite of bland.
edit: Alarak sounds kinda fine but I'm not a big fan of the arrogant, smug side-comments that distract from the intended message.

Just nostalgia and "everything old was better" syndrome.
In my opinion, each of new announcer voices have bland and simple voices (Raynor, Kerrigan, Artanis) or with some sort of emotion or specific voice style (Abathur is bland, but sharp and powerfull thanks to voice effects, Alarak is awesome and have cool voice, Swann is fancy and just like cowboy/simple man without all that elitic-emperor-epicness stuff).

Abathur is great replacement of overmind imo
Nostalgia
1. a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former time in one's life, to one's home or homeland, or to one's family and friends; a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time: a nostalgia for his college days. 2. something that elicits or displays nostalgia.
B-royal's signature says: new BW-player.
edit: In case it's not obvious, I'd never played brood war before the summer of last year.
Zerg design in sc2 was flatterned and moved away from brutalistic-esque with all the yarrw, rawr, grrr sounds to more like shh, jungle-nature-like, I think it is fine, as well as whole changed theme from Cerebrates to Queens.
In my opinion. Abathur fullfills that role of badass semi-robotic man voice of Zerg. You love overmind just because he was great character in sc1, but if you never met him, never played campaign, I truly believe you will think same way that his announcer quotes sound too bland, robotic and without any special thing in it.
In my opinion, Abathur greatly fullfills voice of "non-slurpy-woman" like most zergs are today (Izsha, Zagara, queens, etc zerg sound style).
Cool, but not worth spending money on for me. Artanis, Raynor, and Swann do look pretty sweet from videos. Abathur if you like zerg--I wasn't a big fan.
Abathur is straight to the point in almost all of his quotes.
It's even better in Korean, since he doesn't speak formal Korean. I haven't tried the other announcers, but the default ones are obnoxiously formal (lots of yo's and __nida's). Without the fluff, everything is very short and sweet.

These must be more intended for casual players, because of what I listened to it never gets to the point - didn't know what was being said, delayed time for you to figure out what was going on and how to react to what it was telling you.
And I've got to agree with him, the overmind in BW sounds fucking kvlt.
