So I'm on an anime binge right now. In the past two weeks, I've had several marathons that have gone through these series:
FMP FMP fumoffu Death Note History's strongest disciple kenichi Code geass Prince of Tennis Slam Dunk (Started, couldn't finish) Ranma 1/2 (About 1/3 way through)
And I've noticed that there's a lot of anime about sports (kenichi, prince, and dunk all qualify). I like most of them because they're very RPG-like, in that the beginning character has to prove himself multiple times to reach the top opponent.
I was thinking, why not an e-sports anime? Like pro-SC would make for a very entertaining anime, in my opinion. That SC cartoon posted elsewhere on this form was pretty entertaining, and could be a basis for a real story.
Or for example, an anime series could document the entry of a foreigner into the world of pro-SC, with him moving to korea, passing amateur opponents, and then finally getting to and winning a starleague (ahem, the name ardi suddenly pops into mind...). I like anime with humor, and the humorous section of such an anime could entail the foreigner's entry into korean society, and the laughs that follow from the necessary lost-in-translation faux pas.
What do you guys think? Would you welcome an anime series like this? Am I just watching too much anime?

Sure, I'd watch it. Heck, if they can make a successful anime out of card games, they can certainly make an anime out of this.

I wouldn't want SC to be turned into shounen shit. There's certainly enough of it out there already.

Did you finish Prince of tennis? Hell, that is the anime I most regret to watch. I really liked it at the beginning, but with the time all that superhero-tennis was horrible.

I got close to finishing it. I couldn't stand it after the American superheroes came in. I read on wikipedia for the plot conclusion and it was hilarious.
I thought the supermoves were interesting at first, but after the mean guy with the silver hair was beaten, the series lacked worthy villains, and I got bored.

if they can make one out of basketball (slam dunk) i'm positive they could make one for progaming, and it would be interesting!

i'd love to see an anime revolved around the life of boxer (his ups and downs too)

Isn't the SC scene like a shonen already?

Would be nice :-) Many many years ago I watched an anime about a board game (yes... like chess), called Go. The anime was called Hikaru no Go. And as a player I loved it :-D

I first thought this was about, like marines and zerglings..

hikaru no go was very good, it could work like that with sc

....
No.
I'd watch it because I'm a huge fan of SC, but just in general terms, no.

That SC cartoon thing posted here a while ago started off interesting and gets you hooked but it got sorta....twisted at the end. Sorta strange, but it got weird. Conclusion was ok, at least compared to how the story was developing near the end.
