KT will 4-0 into 2-0 (TY or Zest all-kill)

if JA wins this, I'd be devastated beyond what is reasonable for someone with passion for hatred

So its get home, sleep, wake up and watch KT win. Sounds good.

It's unfortunate I can't root for both Life and CJ. If only...

didn't notice every writer is predicting KT. When we know TL writers' success at predicting recently, that might give us some ideas...

Unless I'm misremembering some critical detail, the rule bars him from competing in Proleague for five years following his leaving SK Telecom. In Starcraft II terms, effectively forever.

Did he leave for another team before his contract ended ? Are Rain/Soulkey etc facing a similar ban ? (EDIT : man Soulkey, do I miss that guy... is he retired ?)

Supposedly, Parting left improperly (I'll refrain from legal terms since I don't know the details very well) before his contract expired. Rain and Soulkey face similar restrictions while Soulkey, as far as we know, doesn't. Since Parting is such a valuable player to have in Proleague, it makes some sense for SKT to bar him from competing. They might not be able to fine him (who knows what the terms were or what the teams can/cannot do), but as long as they can stop him from competing with his new team that's a small victory.
Hard to say who was really in the right, but at this point SKT do seem a little resentful about it.

The former SK Telecom T1 player was originally set to compete in Proleague as a part of the Startale-Yoe alliance, but contract regulations have barred him from the tournament. Contrary to previous reports, PartinG did not leave SK Telecom T1 at the end of his contract as a free agent. KeSPA regulations require a player to play on a team for at least five years to obtain free agent status (clarification via DES reporter Kenzi). As PartinG left SK Telecom before this period, KeSPA has designated him as a player who has 'arbitrarily left' left his team. In such cases, the player's contract is suspended while all rights to player remain with his original team. According to DES, PartinG is only eligible to play for SK Telecom T1, unless SKT puts in a request to the KeSPA chairman to free PartinG from the restriction. Furthermore, Rain and FanTaSy are also said to fall under the same restriction, although their contracts had ended in September. Though both players have played with SK Telecom for over five years, neither player had filled the requisite five years since their previous free agency. TL;DR: PartinG, Rain, and Fantasy cannot compete in Proleague this season, unless it is for SK Telecom T1. The reason is that they did not leave SKT as free agents, leaving their Proleague rights remaining with SKT. This is due to KeSPA regulations where players must fill a certain length of time on their contracts before being eligible for free agency status.

We can hope that Parting will be freed from the restriction and allowed to play for SBENU (provided their partnership with yoe continues, which isn't a certainty), but right now there is no way to tell. If I were SKT and had the ability to keep one of the most dangerous Protoss players out of the playing field, I probably would.

You never know - these are KeSPA teams, after all, they aren't exactly known for always making the logical and/or nice decisions. Remember when Zoun left Prime for SKT?
