I have been a DMG for ~ 50 games now, guess this is my rank then. If all else fails we can still talk about glorious m4-with-zoom-days or that tragic day in 2001 when they decided to nerf my jump-submachinegun strats ... edit: Maybe can join the B team

I'll also throw in another video. It's a short T-side video from sgares and most of the stuff is covered by steel in his map control video, but there are a few points that are new: T-side Strategies on Dust 2 I'd also like to make a suggestion regarding how we practise in our 5v5 games. As it is now we first gather to talk general tactics and strats, as well as smokes and flashes, and then jump right into it. We don't actually dry run any of the strats. Now I'm not saying we should. With 10 people in the server it would mean 5 people just sitting around, and further more we'd HAVE to pre select the teams and decide who plays what position; which would of course discourage mixing of the players (which I still think is somewhat important for everyone to get to know each other and to keep a semblance of balance as we evolve as players) and also showcase exactly who will be where for the enemy team. But there is another thing we could do to make practising these strats a little easier for the players, and make calling a lot easier for the in game leader: tactical pauses. We haven't used these at all (probably because after an hour of strat talk people are eager to play) and I really think we should--to some degree. Obviously you can't pause every round, it'd get frustrating and boring fast, but I think it'd be a big improvement as long as we limit it to perhaps 2 pauses per team. Just a short pause where the IGL can let everyone know which strat they're gonna be running, make sure everyone knows which position they're gonna play (with some reminders to those who've forgotten part of the strat - let's face it can be a lot to remember and the point is to mix it up and use different strats), and make sure the team has all the smokes and so on. This would slow down the process of the inhouse and if you're only showing up to play some fun 5v5s then I guess this suggestion might be redundant, but as it is I don't think we're coming out of the inhouses very practised in any of the strats we go over and I think the pauses are a good solution half between serious and fun, as well as the logistics of being 10 people.

To improve getting to know each other (or to improve the assigning of voices to names) does anyone know some fairly up-to-date TS3 overlay that works fine and does not crash the game or calls in the vac-system? Maybe it's not a good idea, just a thought. The usage of limited tactical pause is a nice feature we only used when someone needed to afk when I remember right. We really should either use it, as Nihil said, to reflect certain rounds or as a short strat-talk when things not running as expected for one of the teams.

No one... actually likes Nuke. (And it's not even official anymore). Just wait for the redesign of the map, so it can become playable again.

Still, I thought a bit about the games and I think I got a few things in mind on how to get better, at least on dust2. I think I understood a lot about the map in just these two games, way more than for all the matches I've played on it already Even if I knew beforehand a few things, I've come to understand the whys, and experienced these directly (for example, the fact that it's a way more aim-focused map, that it's way more dynamic than other maps, etc.). Let's start to fix things
