Two remarks concerning the OP: On August 11 2015 17:00 Blazinghand wrote: If a day goes too long, I will set a deadline and if no majority is reached, the day will end as a no-lynch. Don't like the "I will make up the rule if it takes too long", I think it would be better with a set number of no majority before day's end. A Mafia player can deliver a KP and perform a night action in the same night. If there is only one Mafia player left alive, then only one KP can be delivered. This is in contradiction with how KP works in the "mafia KP" section, I suppose it's a C/C mistake.

I don't think it's ever really a problem. We had the same thing in the most recent noir game and yeah that was less people but town seemed to realise when they were stagnating and would decide on a lynch. I think the rule is more like "you have as long as you want" but the extra provision is just there so it doesn't get rediculous I feel like if there was a set amount of time then it kinda changed the lynch mechanic because town should be using all the time they have and only lynch when they "have too". Where as with this setup it's more like they lynch when they want to. Idk if that makes sense but I learnt a bit from Stuff BH said after noir but let's not go there

Clearly I should let it play out. I could try setting a permanent hard deadline at 96, or 120 hours and just leave it there permanently but if the conversation peters out at 48 hours I don't want people to have like an extra 2 days of silence for no reason. Believe it or not, I thought through this lynch mechanic pretty thoroughly. You'll never be surprised by the deadline (and honestly I don't expect to need it). Remember, this is based on Instant Majority Lynch, which ALSO had the "I, the host declare the day ends in 24 hours one way or another" feature that nobody ever complained about. People complained about other things in IML, but never about that. You guys really don't need to worry at all and I will not change that feature of the lynch mechanic. I'll switch over the Plurality if people don't like Rolling Deadline Majority, but I won't make Rolling Deadline Majority into a bad version of itself. I wouldn't do that to you guys.

Not sure how the option to shortcut at 24h would work in plurality, how would you handle people who haven't voted at 24h, etc, etc.

there is no reason to make it "rolling majority" for anyone in the game unless town is stupid. and majority is better, it enforces people to actually vote for reals and not just waste their vote somewhere, especially in big games.

Poll: Majority or Plurality Lynch? Plurality: Whoever has the most votes at end of day is lynched. (16) Majority: To lynch, you need a majority (more than 50%) of votes. (6) 22 total votes Your vote: Majority or Plurality Lynch? (Vote): Plurality: Whoever has the most votes at end of day is lynched. Poll: Assuming we go with plurality, do you want 24-hour majority option? No, just wait until end of day always for plurality lynch. (13) Yes, check halfway through the day for a majority lynch option. (12) 25 total votes Your vote: Assuming we go with plurality, do you want 24-hour majority option? (Vote): Yes, check halfway through the day for a majority lynch option. If the day ended early, voting would not be mandatory. Voting by the 48-hour mark would be mandatory in this case, but if a majority springs up before you lay down your vote that is fine. Poll: Assuming we go with Majority, do you want Rolling or Simple Majority? Rolling: Check every 24 hours for a majority. (16) Simple: After 48 hours, check for majority. If there is none, no-lynch. (6) 22 total votes Your vote: Assuming we go with Majority, do you want Rolling or Simple Majority? (Vote): Rolling: Check every 24 hours for a majority. Please answer all three, everyone! :D
