Yup. I was on the fence with the first trailer. But that opening shot got me all excited. I nitpicked the first trailer, but I literally have no issues with this one- pure excitement... except for the fear of getting up expectations. There's something about that crashed Star Destroyer that gives the universe a sense of history/ that lived in feel from the originals. Things happened, events had consequences, and you can see the impact. That, to me, is evidence of good subcreation- of realistically building a secondary world.
In JJ we trust!

well, i havent been interested in star wars ever since i grew up and lost a lot of my affection for childish escapist fantasy, but i'm pretty interested to see what they do with it now. i've enjoyed a lot of the video games/books/extended universe stuff, and seeing new movies come out with the original cast members actually in them is actually pretty cool.
i'm the best kind of excited, the kind where i really don't care if they mess it up or not

That trailer,,,,,, I had tears, chills, gooseflesh and CHEERED with arms up when it ended! FRICKIN MAGICAL TRAILER AYEE!!!

I'm really curious where they'll take all this.
The one thing I'm apprehensive about is that the new episodes will all have different directors. Is the story written out, or do they come up with it on their own?
One of the things I love about Episode I (and Episode IV) is how the ending is really unresolved and sets up the next two. Yes there's this victory, but then you stand back and realize the real winner is Palpatine since now he's in power. Same with IV, the Death Star is destroyed but there's still a huge empire that's now gunning for this band of rebels.
I'm really interested to see how much JJ Abrams will tie up compared to how much he'll leave for Rian Johnson, and how much Johnson will leave (arguably more important since the middle episode is supposed to be unresolved) to whoever does IX.

I was actually thinking a lot about this lately. Put it this way: how many named characters are introduced in ESB and RotJ? Not a lot. A handful of as-good-as-nameless Imperial Officers (and later Rebel dignitaries), Yoda, Lando, Boba Fett... and kinda nobody else. Sure, we see Jabba and Palpatine, but they're mentioned already and their villainy is already looming. Basically everything is set up in the first movie. Every plot thread except Lando pretty much is strongly suggested, and even that can sorta be wrapped into the Jabba thread that is Han's very introduction. It's all remarkably tight as a trilogy, in spite of 3 different directors. I really hope they capture at least some of that.
And please God no prequel-style "main villains you know nothing about without reading secondary source material." That prequel shit was obnoxious generally, but I'm almost more mad about Grievous than about the romantic dialogue, which is saying something.

Dunno, trailer looked mostly like your typical Hollywood garbage. After the disappointments that were episode 1-3, I probably won't even bother with the new ones.

That trailer brought out the kid in my. My hype level is 11/10.
Much better trailer than the first. Probably would have gotten a lot less shit if they released this one first.

This is some epic cynicism.

I'm trying to stay way from articles, pictures, etc, but I'm waiting to see if they will explain the new Sith's likeness to Darth Revan. Way too coincidental.

I'm guessing they have multiple directors so the new one can start working on it before this movie is finished? Star Wars movies take a while to get right, so I think that that's a good call. SW4-6 had different directors too.

No real expectations but will go to see as an excuse to get out anyway.

Omg, those fucking Tie Fighters...Kreygasm. Also, such an amazing feeling after seeing Han and Chewie again!
Anyone else notice that the Tie fighter millennium falcon chase goes through the engines of a crashed super star destroyer?

While the trailer has the shots of a typical hollywood movie these days, the setting itself is simply superb. I am quite stoked to see what they come up with.

This movie is probably going to suck since JJ is the master of ruining things. I will never forgive him for what he did to Star Trek

Harrison Ford looking as sharp as ever. Teaser was dope.
