That was the first time I hooked a PC up to my TV. I had to move my desktop because my laptop didn't have an HDMI port at the time.

Those games were crazy I'm glad I got to watch it with someone :D

I recall seeing Halo on TV a couple of times on ESPN and watched the show "Arena" on G4, but my first real experience in Esports was the SC2 beta. The first match I actually caught was Nazgul v. TLO on Metalopolis during the TLI, and I was immediately hooked. I had a 4am alarm to catch GSL for much of 2010-1, and consumed as much as I could. Some of the most entertaining stuff was the random KPOP crossover that ended up in the mainstream esports culture, from "GEE GEE GEE GEE GEEEEE" at GSL to the IPL's infamous "BUBBLE POP" break, I loved our little in-jokes.

The rise of League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth hit close to home as a long time DotA player, so after the fatigue from SC2 sank in, I started getting heavy into both of those games, and I've enjoyed the rise of DotA 2 and CS:GO as games to watch.

The thing that really makes it for me is the casters as they all seem like amazing talents and genuinely funny and affable human beings. Specific shoutouts to Day[9], Tastosis, Mr. Bitter, breakycpk, TobiWanKenobi, djWheat, Totalbiscuit, and Phreak/Riv.

IEM at Comic Con in NYC. Was there in person when Naniwa made it to the finals by proxy gating Hyun. Crowd. Went. Wild.

Red Bull Battlegrounds in NYC. Was a super fun tournament (Scarlett vs. Bomber was insane) and I got pretty wasted with Snute afterwards!

Awesome blog! I remember MLG Colombus as well, I got JulyZergs autograph and shook his hand at MLG Colombus and that was my best memory of ESPORTS myself, one of the favorite things I remembered was scrambling to get a materials for him to give me his signature, and then his non Korean manager telling me "Please try and hurry, we have to get JulyZerg to the food court" , I smiled
