I don't think Heyoka was at NASL S3 Finals, but Kennigit was!
I've never even been at any big esports event, the closest is going with a friend to a barcraft and then awkwardly leaving early because neither of us were really having fun

Nice write up, we need to hang out at an event so I can be in your next blog of esport event memories. But we'll always have learning the dutch Nazgul chant... :D

You were doing live report updates of games on a laptop in the crowd of IEM NY 2010 and micronesia posted something like "I see you" from his phone in the crowd. Then he went to talk to you or something and mentioned it and you looked super creeped out.
edit: also I should mention wacksteven challenged me to StarJeweled a few weeks ago and I crushed him on no practice. I almost got him with my first wave the second game.
:o I'm king of starjeweled, I'll challenge you
I don't think you know what you're getting yourself in to.
Good blog! Always nice to see others' experiences. I've never been to an e-sports event before and closest one was NASL Toronto but I was way too busy and it was way too far away haha. Do regret not going though to meet some TLers but such is life.
IPL3 was crazy when internet went out and we had nothing to do but bullshit, until someone downloaded Brood War using their phone and we played showmatches between Boxer and HuK and whoever else wanted to play
Man, I almost made it into the blog. :p Still, I'm there with you in the overall sentiment. The events themselves, moreso than the games being played at them, are some of my favourite memories period. The Boxer vs Huk buildup and payoff was probably the coolest thing I've ever been a part of in Esports.
(Fun fact, you can see me running around in the background constantly mother-henning in a bright teal Proleague shirt in a bunch of the videos :D )
