Edit: I mostly say this because in the beginning of the game I noticed a few guys who made comments along the lines of "oh damn I didn't get to be mafia, forget this" and because I'm still bitter about the brats I had to work with as a camp councilor when I was trying to organize any sort of game and they wouldn't stop whining about why they couldn't be on such and such side. | ||

The Town: Towny - You have no special powers! All you can do is participate in the game and vote. Mayor - The mayor, elected at the start of the game, is the superflous leader of the town. His special abilities are: increased vote count (depending on the number of people in the game), ability to declare X double lynches anytime during the game (must notify me night before or early on in the day so voting is arranged accordingly), cannot be killed during night while his bodyguard(s) are alive, and has the super special ability to lynch whoever he chooses right after being elected. Only the mayor knows who the bodyguards are. Pardoner - As a check and balance to the Mayor, the pardoner is the runner up to the mayor. He has the protection of the very same bodyguards as the Mayor and remains invincible at night also. His special ability, however, is to pardon up to X people from being lynched at any time during the course of the game. He must notify me while voting is coming to a close (you'll usually be able to tell who is going to get lynched towards the end of voting) or right after I have ended it. I will wait a bit between votes being tallied and the shift into night when people are lynched so you will also have time then to notify me. The pardoner may not pardon himself and he may not pardon more than one person per day. Bodyguard - Random townies will receive the role of bodyguard once the mayor and pardoner have been elected. The mayor alone will know who these people are. The bodyguard cannot be a mafia or special role, he can only be a regular towny. Vigilante - You have the ability to kill up to two people of your choice at any night phase in the game. You cannot use both at once and may wait to use them whenever you feel like. A clue will be left behind that points to you for the mafia (or the town) to interpret. You must also wait until the second night of the game to act. If your hits ever overlap with a mafia hit I will cancel it and notify you the following day and you will be able to use it again. If your hit overlaps with another Vigilante I will cancel all other hits but the first one and will notify anyone who's hit didn't go through the following day and you will be able to use it again. You will not be told if it was mafia or murderer that caused your hit to be canceled. Detective - You have three abilities you may use. You have the ability to ask me, once per day/night cycle, whether or not a specific clue points to a specific person. You have the ability to, twice a game but not on the same day, ask me what role a specific person has. You will receive a simple yes or no answer to both of those questions. And for the last ability you may ask me how many mafia voted to lynch a specific person (cannot use this on mayor election). Veteran - You've been around the block a few times and know how to escape an attack on your life. But for how long? The veteran gets three night lives, meaning he must be hit by three attackers to kill him (much like having two paramedics watching over you, except you lose one life if you incur one attack). If a paramedic is protecting you you will not lose a life for the hit the paramedic protects. If you incur a hit I will notify you via PM the following day. Mad Hatter - May lay bombs on one player per night (maximum 3). If he is killed he will throw the switch and detonate them, killing the players (if they aren't protected by extra night lives or Paramedics). He may remove any of them off players at any time in the game and if a players is killed with one on them while the Mad Hatter is still alive he loses that bomb. Jack - Of all trades, master of none. You may use up to six abilities from other roles in the game however you are restricted to the very same rules that apply to them when you use them. The following roles you may use are: Vigilante, Detective, Paramedic, and Veteran. You may not use two in one day (ie: Detective during day, Paramedic during night). The Mafia: Mafia - Your Don wishes nothing but to take over the world, but first you must take care of your home town! You will know who your fellow mafia members are and get the ability to kill townies each night. You may not target mafia members, however. Mafia killing power will be decided once signups are closed. Saboteur - The saboteur is a special mafia role, he may disable one players abilities once a day/night cycle (excluding the right to vote). Meaning he tells me this before day starts and I disable that player from using their special role the following day and night. Suicide Bomber: Has the ability to suicide into a person killing them regardless of whether or not they are a Veteran or protected by a Paramedic (Mayor and Pardoner are still protected from this hit if Bodyguards are alive). If there are Paramedics protecting the targeted person and/or the Suicide Bomber then they die as well. Roles not used this round: Elder - You have much say in the town due to your status. Which in terms of mafia, means you get an extra vote. You may vote normally during the day but to use your extra vote you must PM or IM it to me and I will simply mark you down on the list as 'Elder'. You don't have to vote for the same person twice. Clerk - Has the ability to rig votes during one day cycle to lynch a specific person. If double lynch is in effect he may only change one of the people to die. His ability will refresh if a mafia is lynched due to his interference. The clerk also has one additional night life. | ||
