You want to get out of the Hinderlands. There is a huge thread on Reddit were people are saying out, the game, quests and everything else is way more enjoyable outside that starting zone.

I don't think developers or producers give money (not directly atleast, but dinners, flying over, etc), it is not needed, the videogame press wouldn't be able to release anything prior or at release if they didn't wanted. We have seen enough of this to not need to even discuss it. Also, How do you "not notice" the horrible tactical camera and clunky controls ?. The only way is that he did play it with a controller, which then means that the reviewer did a crappy job reviewing the PC port (yes, it is a port from console). Also, people is saying than this game plays more like DAO than DA2. We had completely oppossite game experiences thus far, maybe later on i feel more that "DAO", because withouth tactical mode, it just isn't there. By the way, i don't think the game is bad. But it certainly has relevant issues.

The date the reviewer will get the copy is totally related to your status with the company that is developing or producing the game. Inflating scores is common practice, because well, you want to have that review ready for when nda is lifted and you are able to publish it, because if not, others will do it before you. I do think the combat is more similar to DA2 in DAI, but they've brought it back towards the DAO feeling in different areas.

But it certainly has relevant issues. I have been buying my own games for nearly 25 years and been reading video press for a long time. I am well versed in how the reviewing process works, as I have been listening to the Giant Bomb cast for 7 years and they talk about it regularly. I have several reviewers I follow and trust and I don’t believe review scores are inflated. Everything you just said is common in both sports and movie reviews, including free screenings of movies. People who think that every review site is “on the take” need to look at other industries for some context. Sure there are shady sites, but they are the exception, not the rule. And some reviewers had that issues you described and gave the game a lower score because of it. None of them were reviewers I cared about, but then again, I didn’t care about the issues you listed either. Its almost like I found reviewers that care about the shit I care about and look to them when a game comes out, like an informed consumer should. I know dude, but you need to go. You can come back and there are like 7 zones. Do the story stuff, otherwise you will be over leveled and it won't be fun at all.

To me it feels like DA2 but more action oriented, specially with the current tactical mode. Since i haven't played much yet, maybe i am missing stuff, but i really got quite dissapointed with how the game plays out. @Plansix then don't call people conspiracy theorist (lizards!), and there is nothing to look outside the gaming context, the press is suppossed to be there to objectively tell me if a game is well produced and the perks and jewels it may have, not to hype me, whatever they do in other industry matters zero to how press should work. Of course, i don't check reviews since... well i was a kid, and i am thirty already. I prefer to try the yarr version before buying or talking to people who shares my interests. and about this practice being an exception... hmmkey, let's agree to disagree.

+ Show Spoiler + So im playing a male character, Qunari. And so far @ 13hrs or so, all the female characters appear to be lesbians, so im getting rejected hard when i go for the romance dialogue options. Now this could open up later in the game, but feels like male characters kind of got screwed when it comes to relationships. Of course, its my narrow minded view, and i guess its cool that Bioware seems to be forgoing the "standard" boy/girl thing, but i do wish any of the women in the game could show an interest lol. Thoughts anyone? And yes im sure i sound extremely dumb right now lol.

And I don't really care for a fix on kb+mouse, cause playing this game with a joystick does work great, which isnt a big suprise since it was developed for consoles.

Cant say about difficulty, i am only in the tutorial, but i did start on nightmare just in case. The tactical combat mode is powerful enough, but it has this thing where EA ignored that PC players have a mouse. You cant scroll with the mouse, you have to scroll with the keyboard to simulate a stick. That and the low zoom is basically the problem. You can still do all the things in tactical mode, including ignoring the need to spam autoattacks, it just takes longer than in Origins because the mouse support is basically dark souls 1 level. Did i mention the game has no tooltips (because console players have no mouse). It annoys me, but it doesnt break the game for me, i pause these games every half second anyways.

Godwrath: I was responding to the point that "all reviews are bought" which is just incorrect. I will always have a discussion on how a specific reviewer/publication can do a better job or try more than one version of the game. But when people make super blanket statements like "all the reviewers are bought" I am going to respond to it like over arching, shitty statement that it is. Also, objective reviews are a myth. Movie, food and car reviews are not objective. Its something reviewers should strive for, but their personal tastes should also be part of the review. I don't want review robots

Also Ice magic is pretty much amazing if you have a two handed weapon user in your part.

I do however restart as a ranged, it seems some mobs have 360° melee attacks, which is no good for nightmare rogue. So i guess you should play a melee dps first if you play on lower difficulties, to get them out of your system. Warrior DPS might still work on nightmare, they get those guard points.

Save scum is not a problem because... well that's what F5 is for lol. It's not like if you lost the game you had to start over anyways. If you want maximum difficulty, friendly fire + nightmare. Good luck playing a 2handed warrior if you don't babysit properly.
