Well, I didn't want to explain exactly why since it makes me look bad, but Oats was trying to fool scum into thinking the vote was permanently hidden. Basically, this would cause scum to not try to hide how they were voting. If he had been successful, scum would have voted without trying to WIFOM for this vote. Unfortunately, I derped and mentioned that votes will be revealed during the tallying process. Later, I realized what Oats was going for.
Basically, Oats wouldn't have tried to do this as scum. Scum would... well, scum would say what I said. Trying to hide this info from scum and trap them is an unbelievably townie move. Oats is absolutely town.

what, you don't get the reasoning? Oats was trying to trick/trap scum. Even if it was laughably ineffective, it was a legitimate attempt

how do you know this? or are you extrapolating one conclusion from a whole variety of possibilities, which seems to be the case?

Oh, come on. He was trying to hide the fact that yay/nay votes are revealed at day end. Why would anyone try to hide that? The answer is obvious. If scum think their voting is hidden, they'll vote honestly and we'll get a lot of info. It's the only possibility that makes sense, and the fact that you're doubting it honestly makes me very suspicious of you (After all, Oats is traditionally "lynchbait" and would have been a good person to blame a mission failure on)...

you're making claims that aren't backed up by what was put in the thread.
It's incredibly suspicious.

And if you're suspicious of me that just makes you stupid.

Dude, Oats literally tried to hide info from scum. He's obviously town. Get over yourself.

which would normally make Oats town by default, but i'm not sure if mafia would confidently declare other spies as townies in this game.

You've pointed out no holes in my logic. Oats will come into the thread and tell you that's what he was planning. The fact that you lack the intense skill, experience, mental fortitude, and general sexiness that I have doesn't make me wrong. You just have to recognize when someone's play is so far above your level you can't comprehend it.

You think he'd lie to his teammates as scum, faking an attempt to trick them? I don't think so.

BH must never be taken on a mission

Trying to trap someone in some way is towny right?
Though i'm not sure how I feel about BH going out of his way to explain the trap to nullify it I guess

This doesn't make sense to me.
Oats town by default -- not sure if mafia would declare another spy is town? Are you talking about scum!BH calling scum!oats town or...?
Are you talking about two spies? Or are you talking about 1 spy and 1 town?

Are you talking about two spies? Or are you talking about 1 spy and 1 town? What I'm saying is that in a normal game of mafia, it's highly unusual for a mafia to confidently declare another mafia town.
But this is different, so I'm not sure the same applies
