Nope community is stronger than ever actually. Alienware combined with Cevo ran a tournament series that just ended earlier this week in which the prize money was 1000+ euros. You can find the vods that were casted here for the euro cup, and here for the american cup. Rumor has it the winner of the euro cup will face the winner of the american cup in a western front showmatch sometime soon, granted the players are up for it. IMO the euro vods are a bit better from a commentators standpoint, but the guys who the american games Rogers and Pounders are quite entertaining imo. Sunday night fights has been running strong.
At this point i think it is safe to say that the game is just as good as coh1 and it just comes down to preference. Many people on coh2.org bitch about balance, but dont let that deter you becuase most of those posts are irretional and not well thought out. Thats not to say the game couldnt use a few adjustments to make it better, but it is far from "x faction is op lolol".
Coh2's balance is wildly off at the moment. A well played US player basically cannot lose 1v1 against Wermacht or OKW. If US gets into end game scenario they outrange and outartillary both sides so hard it's not even funny.

I partially agree with you, i find its not impossible to lose with USF but they do seem to be the strongest faction atm. In my opinion this is because they take control of the game and map easily early on with riflemen spam into Lt. and M15 hafltrack which usually transitions into win unless the german player can hold out till the late game, which is where OKW truly shines.
Once OKW start getting vet 5 units along with their high tier tanks the battle typically swings in their favor quite heavily vs USF. It's just getting to that point is the problem. It seems you almost never see long games between the western front factions, typically because USA takes full map control early on and on the rare occasion the OKW manages to out maneuver and destroy the aa halftrack very early, he is able to push out and make it to the late game in which it swings in his favor.
This is not to say i dont think the games needs a few tweaks to make it more balanced not just for the western armies but all factions as well, i just think OKW is not fully fleshed out atm, whereas USF is very straight forward and easy to use.

OKW late game can't beat US late game. You'll have 3+ Shermans and a M36 at that point. Between engine damage skills from Vet rifles, Bazookas, long range M36's that are basically SU85s on a turret, along with smokes and the maneuverability of the Sherman, you really can't win late game. Takes alot more micro, and alot more positional play with mines, barbed wire, etc. but you'll field a tank or two at most, while the US is sitting pretty with 4-5 Vehicles plus support.

It's exactly like vcoh besides the fact that it is impossible to get to the late game without a huge fuel advantage. You'll notice his US late game has three times as much fuel as the OKW player ^_^ and he still requires superior positioning and micro...

Since OKW has no snipers they can't MP bleed a US player, and they cannot contest the map early vs US players because a Echelon Squad will just instapin your Engies/Volks. If the US player doesn't misplay (especially after they removed OKW supply truck crushing infantry), he has early control of the game, and will get his HT out first, and control the map from there. By the time you even manage to get a Tank out, the US player will have 4x as much Fuel on the field as you do.
It takes alot more micro to play the US side, but when played up to their potential, US basically rolls over OKW and to a lesser extent Wermacht (Wermacht has it slightly easier since they have non-doctrinal MG and Snipers to MP bleed a US player early).
If an Allied player is losing 1v1 vs OKW or Wermacht early game they are severely misplaying badly. Between M3 Scout Cars, HTs, Snipers, Volley Fire, Hit the Dirt, and all other sorts of early game shenanigans that the US/Russia has, they should never lose early game and should use that advantage to snowball and roll.
I haven't played since the Volley Fire nerf, but realize that Volley Fire used to be able to suppress multiple squads at the same time. If you were losing as a US with that ability you were fucking incompetent and just bad at the game.

How do you deal with the M15 exactly?
I mostly try to deal with them by staying mobile as much as I can, not blobbing etc... Its not an easy unit to play against, but it also eats up a lot of manpower when he has to invest into it...

Eats up a lot of manpower when it beats everything until you get out a puma isn't a problem at all. Plus even when the puma comes out it is a micro battle; not like the puma just straight up hard counters it.

For your units to not insta die they have to stay in green cover, and eventually they still have to move. Maybe if you bait it into Incendiary Rounds of a MG42, but that would mean the US player really blew. M15 just exerts too much map control.

Yes. It's pretty awesome now. Even disregarding the WFA, the amount of fixes and patches added to the game actually made it look and feel more "complete" and on par with CoH1 (if not better). I'm just re-discovering this title and I must say I haven't had so much fun in an RTS in a long while. Blizzards and wading in mud are amazing rng additions and I love them.

OKW lategame > US lategame, Wehrmacht is a lot trickier. It's early- to mid-game where US dominates over Germans.

I've been checking the game out again the last few days, and I've had a lot more fun with it now - unlike at release, when I was sorely disappointed by the game. Give it a shot
I'm having a lot of fun with this game also, if anyone wants to play some games feel free to add me, Elite00fm on steam and send me a message. It's a lot more fun playing with people you can go on teamspeak with and play multiple games with. 2v2 is probably my favorite game type, but I also play 1v1 and sometimes 3v3.
