Played about 6 matches and had no chance whatsoever. Is there a good guide on playing Wehrmacht? No one could give me any good tips so far. Tried to play this strategy: http://www.coh2.org/guides/5235/fortified-armor-strategies but either i end up in a 1squad vs 1squad situation (where I lose, everytime) vs Soviet, or vs the US i just lose because i cant defeat their m20 car thingy, I need 3 Grenadier Rockets to kill it wich seems way too much (thats 180 ammunition, right?). No idea what US is all about (didnt buy that DLC thing and last time i played was before that faction came out). Any tips? Most important for me to know is: What should I spend my ammunition on?

If your opponent has vehicles you need to think about getting a pak or getting a shreck on your pgrens. For a small vehicle like the M20 you're better off luring it into a mine. The single use faust on the gren squads should be used to finish off a vehicle or produce a critical so that it can't retreat from whatever you're going to kill it with. If you use a faust or two on it and then he retreats and repairs you've pretty much screwed yourself.

I'd suggest working on your positioning if you think it is auto-loss. 1 of my Opponents said that too, that most early soviet units are rly good in short range combat, thats why they rush into me but I dont know what exactly long / medium range is. I dont have any visual queue, and im not sure about the penalty. For example: If his conscripts just run into me to close the distance, should I just move back and wait for him to stop at a Point ? I never get Shreks on the Pgrens because i never have enough Ammunition, I guess your tip will fix this since I actually screwed myself everytime by using the gren shreks and having no chance to actually kill anything with it. Also: Strategically, can you give me more tips? I tried to capture and hold 2 Ammo boxes and 1 Fuel Node and mostly ignoring 1 side of the map and I cant hold it at all :X what should my general strategy be? Is the Build order in the Link above any good? should I use another one? On what should I be spending my Ammunition on first? (Flamethrower, Med station etc) edit: Weeeee I won vs a soviet player that had a waaaayyy higher lvl than me, the tips work out! Ty Blitzkrieg0 !

I might actually want to get into this game past the campaign that I finished sometime last year. I don't think there are any GG strats in this game. Some units are quite cheesy - M15A1 in reverse gear comes to mind - but apart from that I haven't encountered anything major or gamebreaking.

DLCs are basically a big moneygrab selling additional commanders which give you more options in a match. Like instead of being able to build T34/76 you'll be able to call in T34/85 which are much better tanks. Likewise for germans, with a proper commander you may be able to call in Tiger tanks to the battlefield which normally aren't able to be built in a match.

You buy either the basic game and get Soviet/Ostheer (Germans), or the xPac and get US and Oberkommando West (Also Germans). You can buy only one of them (xpac standalone) or both.

If you're in cover when the conscripts are advancing then you shouldn't need to move. Your results may vary based on RNG or if you're in yellow cover and the conscripts enter yellow cover as well. I haven't played recently to give meta strategy advice. The guide you're reading is from a year ago though so I'd imagine it is out of date. One thing to be wary of is that most maps have a cut off point. This is the point that completes the supply chain to your base (or your opponents) and is an important position to hold or cut off (hence the name) from your opponent to gain an advantage. Holding the ammo/fuel points is important, but the strategy is slightly deeper than that. If you hold all the points except the cut off then you won't actually gain any of the resources all those points provide.

Lol'd Good to hear. When I tried multi a year ago, Soviet players just spammed cars + flamethrowers and followed up with mortars to win. Things have changed a lot since then I guess.

Did you play DoW2 after the steamworks conversion (Retribution or opt in beta for the GFWL versions)? If yes then it should be similar and if not then it should be significantly better. I have not and I should. That game was one of my favorites for just jumping in and playing a 3v3 or a 4v4 and having a good time. I love CoH prime for that too. Maybe I'll try CoH 2, or just hit the reinstall button on DoW.

http://www.coh2.org/guides Do any of the COH2 veterans/regulars here see worth in them? I personally have not found any guide yet that explains how the US forces tech up. With Soviet/Ost the tiers are purchasable right? Is US/OKW different?

The Lieutenant, Captain, and Major are their tech path so to speak. After purchasing it the other units in that structure are unlocked. OKW receives a truck from offscreen that is set up to produce additional units much like soviet or german base building, except you don't need an engineer and the truck can be set up in any controlled territory rather than only the base.

Build wise for US you usually skip the captain. You usually go for Lt. after getting some rifles, get the AA gun on the back of the truck, and then save up to tech to major. You also unlock zookas and bars depending on what sort of composition the opponent has. From there its just getting shermans and wolverines and using your commander to fill in weak holes in the unit compositions.
