"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying." - Michael Jordan
Fitness Review
This was today's objective:
So the days exercise was the toughest one so far both in terms of quantity and intensity. Not only did it contain 30 minutes of running but it also contained sprinting with a savage amount of push ups and squats.
I made sure that I left a decent amount of time after eating before heading down to the park to complete the runs. It didn't really help though.
Although I started out relatively positively and completed the first kilometer in just over 6 minutes the run then really began to take its toll. Like with my previous run I really struggled to hit my previous targets. It was a really hot day and I started to cramp at about the ten minute mark. I stretched beforehand so I have no idea why this keeps happening. As a result my run became a crawl, and I just reached 3km in under 20 minutes. At this point I decided to stop, ok I probably could have carried on but I was going so slowly what was the point? What was I getting out of it?
I therefore decided to leave the park and come back later where I would try and set a solid 1.5km time. After having dinner and allowing time for it to settle I set off again. After the previous failure I was really determined to make the remaining 10 minutes count.
I set off quite quickly and pushed myself up the hills. In the end I managed the 1.5km in under 8 minutes. My app estimated it should have taken me closer to 10 so I was really happy with that. With the 30 minutes of running done it was time for the sprints.
By this point despite having broken up the run across the day I was really tired. The sprints as a result weren't the fastest they could have been but I did try and push myself. The exercise included 30 push-ups and every single one hurt. But I completed all of them without to much trouble and I never had to stop mid exercise for a break.
Overall despite failing to run for a consecutive 30 minutes I am happy with the days progress, I think it was better to really push for two runs than do one long half-assed one.
The Days Diet
I am currently not on a diet but will be starting on one soon. This area will go over the days food intake and will include recipes so everyone can start eating better at home!
Starcraft 2 and Stream Review
These were today's objectives:
1. Improve the 3 queen roach style in ZvZ.
2. Improve scouting in ZvP, in terms of overlord spread and lings to find pylons.
3. Improve hellion/ banshee defense.
Due to finishing the days exercise late I didn't start to play until gone 10pm. I was super tired but I had to get some games in. Although my lack of alertness didn't stop me going 4-0 in mostly solid macro games.
I played two ZvPs both macro games. You read that right two games where a protoss didn't try and all in me. I must be getting into the big leagues now! The first game was fairly simple, I hit my benchmarks and overan my opponent with good old roach/ling. I played well and took really good engagements.
The second game was a bit more sketchy, my opponent opened with zealot/stalker pressure into double star-gate (hitting me with a orcale). Despite taking quite a bit of damage I was able to recover and hit my opponent with a roach/hydra timing. Despite taking damage I was still ahead 4 base vs 3 and I had a larger army and was able to overrun him despite taking cost inefficient engagements. My only flaw in the game was almost losing to mass dt's which ravaged my bases during a base trady scenario. It wasn't close as I was able to protect one base but I do need to work on my protoss harass defense.
The ZvZ's were also rather simple. Game 1 was roach vs roach. I macroed better, got a small lead and hit a timing. The game was over by the 10 minute mark. During the second game I got 10 pooled and yet again got reminded why opening 14 pool is so good. After defending the aggression I scouted no gas and decided to end the game via 1 base ling/bling aggression. In terms of further improvement my macro slipped slighting during game one so I will need to continue to practice the style more.
Overall another positive day of Starcraft. I hope I will start hitting more masters soon as diamond players no longer appear to be a match for my amazing skill!
Game Summary and Points of Improvement
Vs Protoss (2-0)
- Add static defense when maxed to aide with harass defense.
- Use lings to prevent proxy pylons.
- Improve overlord spread to see pylons/pushes.
Vs Terran(x-x)
- Improve defense vs hellion/ banshee pushes.
Vs Zerg (2-0)
- Continue to work on the three queen roach build.
Stream Summary
Although I was ready to stream, as previously mentioned I got back late from my exercise and as a result didn't have time to stream. Sorry again.
