It's over. I made it through my senior year of high school. While it was lackluster at best, I have made some great memories. All of the disappointment and failures I face are all behind me. Instead, I can remember the good times, and probably the best time of my senior year: This weekend.
Friday was my school's prom. It was a blast to say the least. My date was just a friend from our group. We've known each other since elementary school, although we were never really close until this year. I'm glad I asked her. I've liked her but I'm really quiet and shy (like her but she's way worse) so I never really made any advances. I had no idea how much I liked her though until Friday. We started the night off with prom and we were both really quiet. Then we went on the dance floor. It started with a slow dance. It was awkward at first, but whatever. The song ended and we moved on to other dances. As the night went on, we got closer and closer together. The slow dances were less awkward. I realized I didn't want to let go of her. I didn't want the dances to be over with, I didn't want the night to be over with. After the dance, we went to a friend's house for a bonfire. I stayed for about 2 hours, then the guys in our group came over to my house to stay the night, the girls stayed at the bonfire. Everyone was getting ready to either leave or go to bed, so people were moving around. Before leaving, though, I kissed her. I wasn't expecting anything out of the night because I didn't really know how I felt about her, but now I do. Terrible timing too... She's going out of state to college while I'm staying at home. I don't really know where to go from here? We haven't talked really since Friday because the last few days have been super busy.
All of yesterday I was with my family. It was great bonding time, something that my family doesn't get enough of. Today, I have a soccer tournament and afterwards going to a team pool party. It's been a great weekend so far. I couldn't be happier, except it hit me yesterday that I am going to college. All of my friends are going to different schools, I won't be seeing any of them. I actually cried last night thinking about it. My high school career has been full of great memories. I don't want to leave them behind and start over.
I guess I'm just glad that my high school career could end with such a fun weekend. I look forward to the summer to spend the remaining minutes with all of my friends!

Congrats! Just because they are going to different colleges doesn't mean that you can't set up dates to meet them and such. As for your friend, I think you should talk to her about things. Maybe find out if the feeling is mutual since you said she's leaving

I did! We had a pool party and one thing led to another. Now she's my girlfriend! :D I'm not really sure what is going to happen once she leaves but we'll cross that road when we get there.

Bro, you got this. Take care of yourself that's priority number one. The rest will all come in time. Best of luck, the real adventure and #struggles start after college

I also finished high school exactly a year ago, and reading your blog also reminded me of the good times I also had. I don't know if this will mean much, but I just want to reassure you that good times will continue to happen. Congratulations on graduation and I wish you the best in your future endeavors!
