"Do not give up. The beginning is always the hardest." - Unknown
This was today's objective:
I had school so I spent most of the day working and preparing for my upcoming exams, as previously mentioned the walk there and back is a about 4 miles so a little bit extra cardio.
The days exercise was pure body building and I found the routine very light and easy. Looking ahead day 8 is truly going to be brutal and ill need every ounce of energy and determination and I get my hands on to complete it.
Yesterday I mentioned how I planned to practice my builds in customs first, to iron out mistakes before I began streaming. Unfortunately I didn't have time so ended up going straight into games. Though I highly recommend you complete at least 3 customs for each build before going onto the ladder.
Despite the lack of practice I ended up going 6-1!!! My only loss being to a toss who proxied dts and despite scouting I had no idea what he was doing. All my ZvPs were strange games either involving cannon rushes or all ins. Protoss players really need to learn how to play. During the most epic game of the night a protoss scub cannon rushed me leaving me stuck in my main base and began to go double stargate on two base. Usually I would have rage quitted but NOT TODAY. I ended up one base nydus rushing and cleared out both bases with pure lings, the guy was a truly awful player.
My ZvTs on the other hand were all solid macro games, my mechanics improved further and armed with a new build order I won every single time. Pushes I used to lose to were held off with ease. I think i'm finally getting there.
Furthermore many of the games were against top 8 diamond players, hopefully tomorrow I will be able to play against some masters and truly test my metal.
Hearthstone on the hand was rather disappointing I ended up choosing my hunter deck and played seven games losing four. Zoo locks and miracle rogues appear to strong at the moment for my hunter to deal with. I currently have a completed Zoo deck and my mage deck. I need to either tweak those or invest in a miracle rogue deck. As what I am doing now is clearly not working.
More positively however I finally reached 40 followers on twitch, ill be giving out a free hours coaching to a low level follower once I reach 45 so be sure to tune in!
Starcraft Summary
Vs Terran (3-0)
- I still need to improve the opener by grinding some customs.
- Overlord spread needs to be improved.
- More focus on creep spread to aid in engagements.
Vs Protoss (3-1)
-I need to practice both openers to hit various bench marks.
- Response to Warp prism drops needs to be improved.
- Need to build more static defence with extra minerals.
-Be more viginlant towards cannon rushes and one base protoss shenanigans.
Overall I really need to note down the important timings for both races, e.g when expansions should be done so I will be able to notice sneaky plays sooner.
Something of note I think every player below GM rank should listen to. Builds considered cheese are part of the game and make the game more exiting. However if your below GM and not in a tournament I really don't think cheesing is the best use of your time. Instead of getting a free win why not play and lose and actually learn something, cheesing your way to masters won't get you anything in the long run.
Hearthstone Summary
Deck Played - Mid-range Hunter
Vs Priest (0-1)
Vs Rogue (0-2)
Vs Shaman (1-0)
Vs Zoo-Lock (2-1)
Overall I need to work on my decks before I can progress further, I aim to have 2 meta decks and a wild card so I am ready for tournaments. My wild card deck is my mage, but I will need to build two new decks, I may have to invest some money as I lack lots of the needed cards.
Thanks for reading!!! We made it to day 7!!! I couldn't have done it with out you. Already after a mere seven days I have been able to improve my Sc2 play from Plat to high diamond and my fitness level by amazing amounts. Bring on day 8!!!!
P.S I am currently looking to make my stream more professional with on and off screen graphics which can properly display what I am trying to do. I am also still experimenting with the blog format. If you can help me with this send me a pm.
