If MMA is not top 5 Terran in the world, then which 5 Terrans would you put in front of him? Keep in mind that he's the highest finishing Terran in WCS Season 1.

Say it this way: In a give year, probably about 50 different players qualify for Code S.

Edit: On a serious note - I think you and me are on the same page about many people being Code S level. What I meant to say earlier was that the same persons claiming Flash and TY being scrubs and not represntive Terrans many times points towards Europe and MMA/MVP, etc. claiming those to be the forgotten heroes. When they then get smacked, they say "but what did you expect, they are not Code S-players". It becomes an infitive loop to explain why there are so few Terrans in code S. I agree with you that many players have the caliber to play in code S. However, I dont think MMA is one of them going through a qualifier. But Tajea, Polt, TY and Flash are for sure. But it was really fun seing MMA vs the best of the best today. I dont think he put himself to any shame. He had a solid day, but that was not enough. Yea my bad - I was starting to generalise as quite a few people seemed to jump on the 20:20 hindsight bandwagon when Zest and Parting made it through. Was good to see some great games today regardless, but its a bit of a shame that MC and HyuN couldn't be here to give us a bit more of a taste of what we all want/miss. None the less, Zest and Parting definitely deserve to be in Ro4, noone got lucky today - MMA did some crazy shit in his last half of games and paid for it. Zest seemed like a clear favourite though, much like Maru likely will appear as tomorrow.

It's hard to rank a lot of the time though - personal bias comes in, and most people dont get to see every single game for every player, so if you just so happen to see all of herO's good games, you think he's a god, yet someone else who mostly sees him take some spankings in the games he loses, may not rank him top 10 for example.

Flash looked very weak in his code A group recently. He probably would have gotten stomped even harder by Zest and PartinG (who he never beats anymore..) here as well.

Then I'd have Bbyonjwa, Polt and Taeja as pretty sure TY has done well in Proleague, next to nothing in individual leagues. Flash was a pretty consistent Code S presence and is a bit down on his luck atm IMO, Bbyong strikes me as a Curious-esque Code S gatekeeper. Not to say that MMA is necessarily better at this time, but he has prospered in environments like foreign tournaments where some of the aforementioned have struggled, I mean Ireland's own Abomb defeated Bbyong in glorious fashion. Interested to see TY at Dreamhack for sure though, he does show fantastic play in Proleague My point is more that you're listing players who are in Code B as top Terrans in the region, which is kind of dovetailing with the idea I have in that going to other pastures to actually fulfill your earning potential isn't shameful, nor necessarily a comment on your skill level given quite how cutthroat things are currently over in Korea.

Maru I agree is better, innovation is of comparable skill. But flash? Code b flash? lol . Likewise, TY has no individual results

Pretty much this. Also, seriously - what do you expect when you have to face Zest? It's a bit like saying "Soulkey so bad, he lost vs. Innovation in GSL 2013 S1 Global finals".

I don't enjoy watching Protoss play in general though, so it's ok.

Who else has Flash beaten in 2014? TY has slightly better wins but he got 4-0 by Yonghwa. And Flash got knocked out by pre god mode Zest in qualifers earlier this year. Honestly, going 1-4 vs Zest/Parting isn't that bad. I think Maru would be the only one I would expect to do better. I think BByong/Innovation/SuperNoVa can also do better than 1-4 on their good days but I wouldn't be surprise if they also went 1-4. If we had round robin group of 6 with Zest, Parting, Maru, BByong, Inno and SuoperNova in a group, I would probably bet on Zest and PartinG to finish top 2.

But the same could be said for the idiots that pertain Code S would have an even race distribution if all the successful Korean terrans returned. What today revealed to us is exactly that possibility, yeah you can have a bunch of terrans get their best MUs and make it back into Code S or they can end up like MMA playing their worst MU and bomb back down to Code B. I've got a lot more to say but its probably best if I end it here. Edit: And damn, I really wanted MMA to make it trough but his chances where really slim from the get go. lol, MMA's issue wasn't playing his worse MU. It was that he was facing Zest and PartinG. If all code S terrans had to win a Bo3 vs Zest and PartinG to get into code S. We would likely only had Maru (and even Maru might not have made it). I am not saying MMA would definitely have made code S. But you cannot say that he wouldn't have made it either based on today's games.
