Yeah I always considered that a dumb argument. KR region is still the strongest by far and the best terrans, zergs and protoss play in that region. Taeja could compete if he wasn't so depressed all the time.+ medical problems with his wrists Others, not sure, most likely not. Maybe Bomber on a good day but one just doesn't rely on Bomber to carry the race. | ||

It's like it has to be black and white. You don't think MMA could do to someone like Dark, what he did to Revival? Just because Code S has 32 slots, doesn't mean there are only 32 Code S quality players in the world at one time. Some people have better matchups and get shit luck in matchups, some people have good days and bad days. I think its just excessively cynical to be a WCS KR elitist and slam everyone else. I'd like to think there are say... 50 Code S players in the world at one time. Rather than assuming there are only 32 (or some people think there are only 16, but the other 16 are just flukey inclusions to the Ro32) | ||

The strength in depth in Korea is monstrous though, it would be incredibly hard to stick around in Code S consistently. Outside of Innovation and Maru jjakji has from memory the deepest run in Code S in recent times so how is he not competitive? It's all well and good fighting for honour and against the very best but sometimes you have to look at your earning potential elsewhere I guess. I wish that from WCS' inception the prize pool was much larger in Kr to reflect the higher average level and prestige of the region, a trick was missed there for sure. | ||

Edit: On a serious note - I think you and me are on the same page about many people being Code S level. What I meant to say earlier was that the same persons claiming Flash and TY being scrubs and not represntive Terrans many times points towards Europe and MMA/MVP, etc. claiming those to be the forgotten heroes. When they then get smacked, they say "but what did you expect, they are not Code S-players". It becomes an infitive loop to explain why there are so few Terrans in code S. I agree with you that many players have the caliber to play in code S. However, I dont think MMA is one of them going through a qualifier. But Tajea, Polt, TY and Flash are for sure. But it was really fun seing MMA vs the best of the best today. I dont think he put himself to any shame. He had a solid day, but that was not enough. | ||

But the same could be said for the idiots that pertain Code S would have an even race distribution if all the successful Korean terrans returned. What today revealed to us is exactly that possibility, yeah you can have a bunch of terrans get their best MUs and make it back into Code S or they can end up like MMA playing their worst MU and bomb back down to Code B. I've got a lot more to say but its probably best if I end it here. Edit: And damn, I really wanted MMA to make it trough but his chances where really slim from the get go. | ||
