He's really not an exceptional player individually, but his type of style fits C9 very well. He's a very flexible player capable of playing to his team's needs. He definitely would not see the level of success he has right now with C9 on other teams imo. On the flipside, I guess you could say C9 would not see the same success without him if they had an adc that only played hard carry adc's or whatnot. Don't see how you can say that C9 wouldn't be as successful with a different ("better") adc. Most adcs that play hard carries do so because the rest of their team is weak, and to have any chance of winning are forced to play champions who can hard carry (e.g. doublelift in previous seasons). For example WT is a great adc but he's not necessarily the star of the team and does he have to play hard carries, but only because the rest of his team is so good. Piglet is another one. If those guys played on weaker teams they would definitely be treated like DL in previous seasons. It's like saying CLG is ok with nien top because he does his job (go even or behind in lane, but good rotations and teamfight positioning), but it's not fair to say "CLG wouldn't have the same level of success if they had a stronger top laner like Dyrus." Actually that brings a good point. Most (good) adcs can play several styles depending on the champion and team comp, but top lane can has potential for guys like Zion who essentially play a different position. A good example would be Voyboy on CLG - great player (especially at that time), but not the type of player that fits the team. Meanwhile you can almost always get a better adc without worry. | ||
