What do you guys think about this. I went to WCS Finals last weekend and I was fairly disappointed. They charge everyone the same price for tickets (for general entry) but they they don't give any numbered seats so anyone can sit anywhere and if you leave to get an autograph someone will take your seat. To make matters worse they grossly oversold tickets, there were at least 30-50 people standing around or trying to find seats or just standing and watching on one of the big screens at the back. This kinda made me mad because they are charging for you for seats but don't have enough to give everyone.
To make matters worse there were a LOT (at least in the first couple hours of the event) of free seats listed as "premium" seats that no one was using but they didn't allocate to people that were standing around.
IMO I think in the future they should sell tickets for the number of seats they have available and charge a cheaper ticket for people who want to stand or sit on the floor at the back and watch on the big screen, first come first serve and allocate the "premium" seats to some general ticket holders (after a certain time period) that are the closest and move people up and allow others to get seats.
What do you guys think?

Of the SC2-related events I have been to, I have found seating to be a real issue. However, I don't really have a solution. I think a lot of people are resistant to try to take a stand on this issue because this is how esports events have been from the beginning, unfortunately.

Didn't we have this topic already from you?

Yeah this is a repeat topic. I remember talking about how buying General Admission tickets don't guarantee you a seat, so you should just get there early and stop complaining.

Yes but it was wrongly closed for being "stupid" then I was told that they weren't going to reopen the thread and that I should either create a blog post or put it in the WCS thread.

Yeah it was called a stupid rant by a moderator. What do you expect to come out of reopening a whiny thread? People are just going to come back and tell you the same things you heard last time.
::shrugs:: good luck.

That's not what general admission means and it wasn't said anywhere on the tickets that the seats weren't guaranteed.

That's exactly what general admission means, and it didn't say anywhere on the tickets that you don't get a free lap dance and blow torch either.
Anyways, I'm not gonna start (again) on this topic lol. Good luck with it.

I really don't see how this is whining. This is a real issue and I'm calling NASL out for it. They don't tell you the seats aren't guaranteed, they make terrible use of existing seating and they sell you general seating at the same price when there isn't enough for everyone.
All I'm saying is they should rework the seating system and add standing room tickets for people who buy late or want to show up to the event and don't have seating tickets. It's stupid to say that's whining.
Edit: No that's not general seating. General seating is x tickets for x seats and you can sit wherever you want OR no seating at all and you can sit/stand anywhere you want. It's not both.
If they keep the current system for the next event I'll probably just stay home. It's not worth the hassle.

I bought "Premium/VIP tickets". The reason why IM PAYING and extra fee is 1) So i can bypass lines and have a good seat 2) so i dont have to wake up in the morning to get a good seat because it is "reserved" as they said 3) Im being nit picky, but jesus at least give us thundersticks! I paid $4 for those overpriced shit. You want us to make sound, give us something to make sound with!
Day1 absolutely fucking chaos. Yes I came late(6pm), but I paid for a spot so I wouldn't have to deal with bullshit. Had the joyus time of having 1/2 the screen taken up by a pole.
Day 2 You know what ill come 1/2 hour early. Just to secure a spot in my reserved area. I asked an WCS helper and they said I have to come way earlier to get my "reserved spot"(it was filled and obvious red band idiots were sitting in the seats and wouldnt move when asked) What the fuck does that even mean? Really NASL? Nope. Not until i tweet at NASL that their premium seating was a Scam(maybe it was just coincidence) they FINALLY asked any regular people to show their wrists bands and leave the premium area. Took them a 1.5 days TO DO THIS. How do you honestly plan an event without this? Really, I know NASL has bad production but this was terrible. I ended up watching Day2 on one of the TV screens because I had already chosen my spot with friends, and there were to many scattered seats in the "premium" area for us to fit in a decent group.
Day 3 Finally fixed their shit.
1/10 impressed. Would not go to a live event again if they hold it in the same venue. Terrible view 90% of the time(so many random poles in the venue), no raised seating, the side TV's were nice, but they need more drop down screen from the ceiling like they had 1 at the back. Could not see Minimap even in premium seating because of the small stage and no elevated seating. If no elevated seating, at least make the projection of the game not fucking 2 Feet above ground level. Seriously dudes.
Thanks NASL!

Day 3 was definitely not fixed for regular holders. It was atrocious. I do agree with the poles though. That shit was stupid and blocked like half the stage even when standing.
I think they should put the TV's a bit higher too, IMO they were pretty low.

I already told you what GA means at these type of events and sporting events. Anyway, no point discussing that again but I would hold it at a different venue. Not the first time I said that, but the boonies are cheaper, meh.

Is my seat reserved? Seating will be divided into sections: premium and general. You may sit anywhere within the section that matches your wristband. Individual seats will not be numbered.
How does that sound like there isn't enough seating for everyone?
Anyways, regardless of what's right. This isn't a thread to discuss what general admission means. It's a thread to try to come up with a system that is better in the future.
