So last night I began to have a sore throat, which was uncomfortable but not the end of the world. I conked out at 2:40am and woke up at 11:50, so I got a reasonable amount of sleep.
It got gradually worse throughout today, my neck started to get sore (I think because the lymph nodes are getting swollen). I've got a minor headache. No amount of water makes it comfortable to swallow. I was supposed to go to work tonight but I called out. I wasn't sure if I needed to at the time (around 1pm today) but now I'm sure it was the right decision. My manager wasn't too happy (I stop working there next week) but it was legit! So I don't feel bad. And it's only my second call out in 10 months.
I actually fell asleep at 5:15, and just woke up. So now I'm not sure what do to. Looks like Taeja is streaming. Or maybe I'll play a bit myself.
Blah. I have a camping trip this weekend that I would really appreciate being healthy for. I guess I'll continually chug water and eat these fruit snacks that give 100% of your daily Vitamin C per package.

When I'm sick, I hate that all those other people aren't. You people. You don't know how easy you have it.
Also it really sucks to go to school, fully biohazard mode with flu. I've written some exams with flu, and that's no fun at all. 5% of your time is allocated to the management of various bodily fluids, and your brain works at 30-50% of its normal capacity.
Anywho, you'll be fine soon.

Are those the ones that have to messages written on the wrapper. Then i think so.

They weren't cough drops, they're literally Welch's fruit snacks. I'm not actually coughing at this point (oh please god no).
Hey Emu! Hope alls well.
Also @Djzapz, being sick in school BLOWS. I got sick on a Monday once, Tuesday it got worse and felt pretty bad. I though, no way it gets worse, right? Wrong. Wednesday was possibly the most awful I've ever felt. I went to school but I was so out of it. At lunch I just sat down and put my head up against a locker.

If I did that, I'd hate everyone all the time. (I'm in just about low-grade constant pain, but it's a melange of problems most of which have been diagnosed as "Well, hell, you're getting old. Things break.")
Going to school or work while sick can really suck, not to mention the follow-on effects - I've read how one small company nearly died because one person came in with the flu. (One person came in, all 20 other employees caught it, the company was crippled at an inopportune time.) Anecdotal as hell, but useful as a "calling out sick isn't always a bad idea" story. (I also once took a music final, while dizzy as hell with a migraine. It was a duet played with another person on flutes. Brutal, man.)
Also, Halls is good... but don't ignore the full spectrum of options. Up to and including codeine laced cough syrup. But for taste? I've always enjoyed Halls mentholyptus. Vicks cough drops are pretty good too. MysteryMeat1 and TheEmulator are talking about what is essentially a prettified vitamin. Those aren't really cough drops.

- Take a flock of a cotton or a sanitary towel. - Take a piss on it. - Attach it to the front of your neck with a bandage or some expendable scarf. - Go to sleep.
In the morning, your swelling should be at least less painful if not completely gone.

The kid picks up pretty much everything possible at daycare, and 2-3 days later the wife and I are sick, so right now I also have a sore throat and stuffy nose. It's great.
My favorite is sleeping with a coughdrop and waking up with it on your cheek with that weird ass taste embedded.

Worked much better than I expected and I still sometimes use it as a last-ditch weapon against sore throat.

Well I Don't think I'm that desperate yet. I just woke up, again. Slept from 11:30 to 8am this time.

...I'm not sure how to even begin portraying how I felt when I first read this lol...
Eat some oyster mushrooms. They've been shown to work just as effectively as flu meds if not much better.
Or maybe it's shiitake mushrooms, pretty sure it's oysters though. Either way they're both really good for you!!!

Good news everyone: I survived and am healthy again, without the use of piss or mushrooms.

Being sick sucks so much ass. I just got out of a week of stomach pains and cramps which pretty much completely debilitated me. If sickness would be a person I would kick him in the face every chance I got.
