Basically, the game is too hardcore for me to be able to keep up, and IMO it only works properly if you are part of a large group. Also the community is rather obnoxious, and the person who I liked best and really enjoyed talking to quit a while back, so I lost most of my motivation for playing.

They added wallpaper to houses and some other things. Priorities... they're doing it wrong.

If you've played anything with me before and are interested in casually playing this for a bit (preferably people with experience) then toss me a PM or reply here and I'll give you my hearth secret and get you started.

Stole from some guy today on my ~15 humor alt. Threatens me with death. Six hours later a group of six people, all with 400+ bugged humors, comes and kills me. They proceed to whine and bitch for another hour afterwards in IRC once they realize it was just an alt of mine they killed and they can't figure out who my main is. I don't remember Haven being full of this many angry teenagers. Maybe it's the 3D graphics? I might start blogging about the daily activities of one of my other alts for shits and giggles. The few players left on this game are all so anal-retentive that it should make for some really fun reading.

This resulted in players having over 1,000 Humors after the poison debuff wore off - something the developers said wouldn't be possible to do. Either these are the two worst developers in history or the two greatest trolls. I haven't quite decided yet.

Someone else on the official forums put it best when they said that these developers keep adding half-finished features and then moving on to something else. They're essentially like goldfish. If a massive patch came out that finished all of the features that are currently added but not finished... this game would be incredible. Instead they can't seem to focus on just one thing and keep half-assing a dozen different things. I've never in my life seen so much wasted potential. Oh, also found out the reason I died yesterday was because the developers, who I pissed off during a livestream they did a few days ago, gave out my location when the person I stole from on my alt turned out to be friends with them. What a clusterfuck of a game this has turned out to be.

But yea, in general, jorbtar seem to be very... flexible... with their developing plans. For better or worse, I suppose.

by jorb » Thu May 23, 2013 12:55 am Hi. For the past few weeks we have attempted to keep a somewhat forced pace of development, and we've found the effects of that to be detrimental not only to the more long-term development of the game, but also to our own sense of purpose. We feel that we've picked a fair amount of low-hanging fruit among our development and update priorities, and that the impact of the updates has thus perhaps been lesser than is actually desirable, in that many updates have felt like fine-tuning and adjustments of what is already in place, rather than steps along the way toward some meaningful goal. For this reason we have decided to redirect some of our efforts to contemplate more fundamental aspects of some of the core systems of the game (Gluttony, among others), and how they pertain to the future evolution of the same. That is not necessarily to say that we'll redesign the game in a fundamental way, but rather that we need to find out where we stand and whither we want to go. This is not to say that we do not aim to try to provide you with the frequent updates we know you love to hate (and we still aim to provide the previously mentioned land leveling tool to the extent that our creative energies are not primarily used on meditation), but merely that... ... we wish you were here. There'll be an update soon y'all. <3 AKA, WE FUCKED UP AND HAVE NO IDEA WHERE WE WANT THIS GAME TO GO. I totally called it. Damn shame, really - such lost potential
