Given that you are reading this random blog I can safely assume that you frequent TL, possibly to the extent of refreshing the site constantly in search of new content: sc2 balance threads, the latest drama, or even the next girl blog. Anyways, I decided to write this blog today to both optimize and enhance your overall TL viewing experience.
The following are some tools I use on TL. A few of them were developed by myself.
Team Liquid Streams++ By: fyresoul
This is by far my favorite extension for TL. You can use it to quickly display a list of all the most popular streams as well as bookmark your favorites. Once a player is bookmarked, you will receive nice popup notifications when they come online. Simply click the notification and you will be sent to the stream.
Team Liquid Ranks By: memcpy (aka qwv4851)
This is a plugin I wrote in an attempt to match TL users with their sc2 profile information. It works by attempting to match their TL username with their corresponding sc2 name and picking the best match. Not really something to be taken seriously, but can be rather insightful when reading threads on TL, especially from the strategy forum.
Team Liquid New Hype By: memcpy (aka qwv4851)
I noticed that a majority of my time spent on TL is refreshing the page and scanning the sidebar for new threads. This extension helps to reduce the time looking for new threads by highlighting them red.
Newly Created Threads By: Teamliquid.net
I don’t use this page myself as the TL New Hype extension makes it slightly redundant, but I’m just putting it here as an alternative.
Bonus: Here is some data I have collected using the TeamLiquid Ranks extension. All the charts can be viewed here.
These charts give a rough estimate of the TL demographic as it relates to SC2. Keep in mind TL Ranks matches users with the highest ranked profile found so the league chart is slightly biased toward a higher overall player ranking. Also the "Game" chart is slightly misleading as it only includes players who have played 1v1s on HotS or who have never played 1v1s on WoL.

This page came up when I was browsing with TL New Hype extension lol.

Wow these are pretty neat; I've only seen the streams++ one before. I wish you had the TL ranks one for FF. Any way to get it to work on FF atm?
|
I hope my poor server doesn't die.. Be gentle, users! Also really looking forward to the larger audience contributing data for tl.net users.

The best way to get it to work on Firefox would be for someone to check out the project on GitHub and port the extension over themselves. I don't use Firefox myself and I've never written an extension for it so I won't be doing that myself unfortunately.

Idk if the ranks thing works for people who don't play SC2 as much. I don't play it very much anymore simply because I lack the time to.

awesome! i just added the streams extension :D

Any plans to port these to Firefox? Anything I need to do to make that possible alternatively? The rank one seems to be the most interesting to me lol..tune out a lot of the crap you see on sc2 forums at least.

What would be cool is an extension that notified you when someone quoted you.

But ty that is handy No, it doesn't look through your posts - put your ID in the search field, not the username bar. Then you guy posts that contain your ID, like when you're quoted.
