As town he posts like pages and pages about all his thoughts and all his plans and conspiracy theories and the like. Here he was just like....meh. Acro I never read a single post from his, I just sheeped BC there lol DP had that check and was scummy I guess (never read any of his posts until the last day). I would think that last day was "doable" for town....but yeah there was just too much confusion and stuff. Also when will Stutters be scum goddamit! We got bored waiting too you know

anyway sorry to town for being an ass and totally awful all game.
got totally thrown by corazon refusing to interact with town and then foolishness having at least 2, probably 3 mafia reads wrong, and i thought that had to make him mafia.
generally just a downhill, overemotional pile of crap from my end.
i'm not used to being so hilariously wrong so I'll have to come back to this game in a couple of days to filter the mafia, and resolve never to play this way again.
I can't remember having a game like this so I need t make sure it doesn't happen again :/

I am right there with you, Marv.
Only I'm not usually right anyways.

oh sparkly one,
the dog would never have led you wrong. You should have heeded those puppy eyes and said those words of praise.
Instead, the dog was shot in the heart, and the shepherd was soon gone too. It was a day of bloodshed and a night of despair. Why, only the Sages could have saved you then, but even they were misguided by the stars.
Sadly the Brown Brotherhood was only a front for the cause, a product of the old dog's senility. In fantasy dreamworld, perhaps the reality would have been different.
Remember the old saying.

I read his logic, but I disagree with the fundamental principle of it. You can't look at someone else's post and think "Why would I write that as a townie?" It doesn't work like that. No one else thinks the same as me, and no one else posts the same as me.
This is, fundamentally, why Foolishness was completely ass-backwards in that post (yamato was the townie, Acro was scum). You have to think "Would town yamato make this post?" And the answer, unequivocally, is yes in this case. Because he did. And scum Acro was obviously good enough to know what the "correct" response was.
TL;DR: My meta doesn't work for any other player. "Correct" meta doesn't work for most players.

no you.
But seriously I think this is a really good example of what happens when town have a bad day 1 and basically lots of confusion everywhere.

HiroProPerson was signed in when posted 03-15-2013 03:51 PM ET (US) sigh, i still can't remember where I've seen that post.
radfield isn't a dick. he's one of the more pleasant people during a game. i dunno, like radfield's style of play is completely different from how perfection plays normally so i have no idea how perfection would try to imitate that. but i don't think his personality is radfield.

That is exactly what i thought when i was researching radfield. I was like this is going to be hard.

Funnily enough.. you benig a dog & survivor, is making sense looking for a shepherd hahha

yes town imploded, but mafia created "plausible" scenarios for the atmosphere to remain like that
at least in my opinion

i think the delayed flip reversal was a bit silly, just make it a hidden flip. we ended up arguing if kita was telling the truth or what and it makes no sense to analyse the hosts and the end result of a hidden flip and a delayed flip reversal is just about the same: you have to ignore it. my role was nice but i didn't get to use it because for some reason i didn't get lynched this game. also, 12 games? i'm sure the manager of the tl mafia database has it right but still ...

Town really didn't have a horrible day 1. Lynched third party, killed a trolling player who was cluttering thread. There were a ton of things bad with day 1 but it was the towns most successful day.
Mafia did do well ensuring town kept pushing bad choices but had a single player gone out of their way to just filter dive a few of you would have been caught. However by day 3 it really didnt matter

Thanks hosts! I don't think there were any obvious imbalances... unless sloosh could actually give out 4 live nukes, although it would have been hilarious to see half of town blow up in the way they were used :D
I really liked the greymist role. Both parts of it were pretty clever.
As for the last few posts in the obsQT saying that it was just a bad town, yes and no. Just as LVI, you cannot just blame it on bad town that it was a scum victory. Our night actions were spot on and we coordinated well enough to get Ver/DP out from the prime scumspect position without anybody else jumping out as obvious scum.
Of course it helped that Marv and Foolishness tunneled each other all game, and that Vivax went around completely destroying the town atmosphere. PS. Vivax, if you claim you were not a complete jerk this game, then explain this: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=18022325 I think our scumQT has numerous occasions where one of us is hoping that you come into the thread and yell and shit all over everybody again. Or that Marv and Foolishness go another round.
However, we did our best to egg them all on without being too obvious. Did any of the scum play an outstanding miraculous game? No. But it was a team effort to keep town in complete disarray... and that is, imho, the goal of scumplay: to MAKE town bad.

Now compare that to what yamato and Acro posted" etc etc and went on to explain why he thought yamato's post was scum oriented and Acro's was town oriented.
I mean, I agree with you. It is very valuable insight into how Foolishness thinks about the game as town. I just don't think the fundamental principle works unless the person you are looking into thinks like you do.

yea vivax was very annoying to play with. please stop doing that even if you are right/wrong/scum/whatever.

Yes, I don't think that kind of analysis really works unless you are intimately familiar with the person you are looking into's meta and how they think/function/play in general. But, meta is a tough nut to crack. SO many people use it wrong

Most flavorful, foolishness as bumatlarge/the batman.
Most amusing, sloosh as caller.
Most awesome/creative role mechanics... hard to say as a lot of them were pretty good. I particularly liked the iGrok, Plexa, and Sheth roles.
e: like mocsta said. kebab nukes! rofl.

I think the part about reacting to a town death after thinking it was scum from Foolishness's post was more about attitude and approach to the game so you can become better.
In other words it's better to acknowledge that you were wrong, and why, rather than say, "wow that guy deserved it"
