Seriously though, they interview people that are willing to do interviews first. Then there's the language barrier. They don't have a translator ready and waiting to do every on-the-fly translations for Korean players. Then there's the fact that a lot of the jokes and such will be lost in translation.

It just seems like its more about how much attention HotBid can get from being SOOOO RANDUM AND AWKWARD XD instead of offering genuine insight into how players are doing going into a serious tournament. Like seriously, there's a Huk interview every tournament he's at. Could we hear from Innovation? Life? They have translators, no? But you're right, no Koreans have personality. MC isnt there or anything. It's a farce, and I won't stand for it any longer.

If they lost their response was: My opponent is very good. In the future I will practice very hard and do better. If they won their response was: I practiced very hard and I am very happy I was able to display it in this match. No videos available.

It isn't the interviewee's fault if the only questions that are asked are "How was your game?" "How does it feel to win?" I just interviewed every NA player. They talked about which tv shows they liked because they were ashamed of getting 3-0'd by someone who practices harder than them and earns less. Videos available: Literally every HotBid MLG video.

They actually touch a little on the personalities of the players they interview, their views on not just games, but life in general and so much more. With the casual mood, the players are actually much more likely to talk about more personal things and bring up things that they wouldn't have otherwise. You're just not seeing that because you're biased against Western players. The thing with these types of interviews is that if Koreans did it, they'd need to have a solid command over the English language. The best of them so far is Polt, and despite his grasp on the language, he still finds it very hard to speak the language itself. You can't get the desired responses if half of what's being talked about isn't understood or poorly translated, and if you changed the interview format, you're more likely to get answers from the Koreans that are generic even if you try your hardest to get a different response out of them (unless you're Parting or MC, the two people that actually have the guts to bring out their personalities in interviews). Then take the media training these Koreans have had. Do you think you'll really get an honest answer out of them? Do you think they'll talk about what it is they really like and dislike and go in-depth with topics that could cause slight problems to themselves and/or their teams? I'd like to see people try, but you'll be hard-pressed to find people that can bring a lot out of the Korean players in interviews, especially if they're not Korean themselves.
