INFORMATION ABOUT MY PRACTICE CASTS AND GOAL: I have decided to try my hand at learning to cast, better my speaking and public presentation skills, and score myself a potential job within the eSports and gaming industry, all while improving my league ranking in StarCraft II and attempting to learn high-end gameplay strategy analysis skills! (Biggest run-on sentence, ever!)
INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CAST: This is my second time casting this event. I was able to cast for about 6 hours before I started babbling and getting really exhausted. I feel like I have made major improvements, not only because I have been practicing my casting, watching tournaments, streams, and replays, but because I am getting better at playing as well. Compare this cast with my first one at the bottom of the post, and I think you will see I am making progress! Casting with iNcontrol was a blast as well!
I think my filler banter has improved, as well as my humor, working with a co-caster, my speech and presentation in general, and my game knowledge. I am getting more comfortable talking about what I see and trying to analyze it. I am able to suppress more "likes" and "ums" as well! Still a long way to go, though!
The event was the December Monthly Gameclucks StarCraft II Tournament! This featured game is iNcontroL [P] vs. Tilea [T]!
NOTE: 1. Any feedback about my appearance, attire, sexuality, etc. is not welcome and will not be acknowledged. 2. I am not thinking I can get any high-profile casting jobs yet at this level, I am still learning. 3. I am aware I need to be a better player before I can legitimately cast tournaments.
Here it is! Casting Practice #5!
Here is me casting with iNcontroL! An amazing experience and a fun little troll cast. Geoff is such a great guy!
Here is #1, if you haven't seen my very first attempt:
Thanks to the community in advance! I love you guys! The trolls, too!
You can watch me play live at www.tarababcock.tv (TwitchTV)! Getting VERY close to becoming a true PLATINUM blonde!
I definitely wasn't expecting the spiderman talk. The casting was pretty good I actually thought you filled time a lot better than your casting partner in the first game which is a really good sign since most pro games haven't a whole lot of action early on unless its ZvZ. I really liked the cast with Incontrol it actually I think was pretty much all you can ask I think, it wasn't super high level commentary but who needs that every single cast.
Wow you have made immense progress from your first practice session to #5 at Gameclucks. If you keep at it I can only see greater things happening for you in the future.
Well Done Tara!! You seem to be getting better every game and definitely bring some fun into the casts, anyway i hope to see you in some big tournament in the future.
Hey Tara, nice work! I really enjoyed it. I wasnt quite sure but was that tournament in seattle? are you in seattle? If you are thinking about doing more casting, theres some great tournaments up in vancouver (my old hometown) that would likely love to have you cast

Well, who can ignore poor Peter Parker's death!?
Thanks! I think I am doing OK and improving as far as filler and interesting side commentary goes. I definitely need to continue to work on my analysis and stuff, but being interesting, outgoing, showing personality, and being able to back up your analytic caster is half of the battle!

Thank you so much! That is what I want to hear. I am pretty much just hoping to improve steadily. I don't need to hear people kissing my ass telling me I am a good commentator, because anyone with a brain can tell I lack a few essential things, I just want to know that I am making progress!

Thank you! Just starting slow and working up! I don't mind taking smaller jobs for little-to-no pay at first. I would be disappointed if I was able to get any kind of prominent jobs at my level. Not that I wouldn't jump at the chance, just I want to be able to earn that spot, and not just get it because my gender or looks will bring viewers.

Yes, this tournament was in Seattle-- or rather-- Lynnwood, WA. Are we talking Vancouver, WA or Vancouver BC?
honestly the thumbnail of your first video turned me off quite a bit, I want starcraft casting and dressing up that revealing does nothing to help.
but then I listened to your other casting and thought you are pretty good overall imo. (I actually prefer yours over DrZealot casting, I find his voice a bit too low to sound clear on the mic)
There is a lot to learn from Incontrol casting, especially how he adjust his tune to match the situation. sometimes he leaves out some time for you to add in something but you couldn't put in so much info.
But as for other situations, you did pretty well imo! It would be fun to hear you casting your own replays as well imo lol

Yeah! Thanks!
I was pretty intimidated by casting with someone who actually knows the game better than me (vastly better actually) doubled with knowing how hard Geoff will troll me if I say something completely stupid. So I am aware I was much quieter and more careful about what I said.
Just watched the first one, towards the end when you called Tilea's win >_>... The supply disparity is something I think people noticed while you said "I predict Tilea's win here." Like, it's absolutely accurate, but then, it's so obvious lol, so I think while you shouldn't say "well, that's GG," you could try to be like "This is probably going to inControl to pull out the largest amount of skill he's ever needed to win" or something, it's entirely up to you on the wording. Just say it like it is during that time but just not being BM.
Also, at the beginning, you were asking "We'll see if he goes CC next after the barracks or not." Well, I mean, you figure that out by waiting for the gases to fall (14 or 15 gas). Also, you can tell by the map what's the most likely scenario; on Daybreak, everyone expos quickly because it just makes sense on such a huge map.
Gotta stop saying, "I predict" after each guess on what's happening lol. Just say it like it is if you see something that you don't think means anything else. You say, for example, "Telia is usually aggressive, so I think he'll be aggressive this game as well... I predict." Just don't do it, right? If he's going bio that's an indication that he's going to be aggressive anyways, so just call aggression without saying bio. MORE CONFIDENCE! Nobody expects you to be Artosis anyways, I've stopped playing for like half a year, so I don't remember you at all, so I'm guessing you're new? Yeah, just predict without the cop-out of "I predict", and learn why you were wrong if you were wrong.
I lol'd at your DT/hot guy joke.
Actually you're funny, most girls aren't... >_>
That's my analysis of your analysis! I feel like an English teacher, only expect one that has never participated in the language of English lol.
