The reason for the banning was due to some players on the team talking trash to the referee or some other players from an opposing team. If it was for the former, the disqualifying of the team is completely unjust. No ref or admin should put their ego above and before the integrity of the tournament. People playing and watching this tournament want competition and they want people who win or lose to earn and deserve it. When someone decides to disqualify a team out of personal reasons, thats when the integrity of the tournament goes out the door. It makes you wonder if there was an ulterior motive and you start thinking of corruption. As a ref or admin you have to be OBJECTIVE. Any ref or admin who decides to disqualify a team for personal reasons or because someone is talking trash to them is doing it on the basis of SUBJECTIVITY. So even if this was the case, it's still the wrong move and puts the integrity of the tourney in jeopardy. What could have the ref done? He could of done what normal refs do in sports games. You simply give them a warning at first. If they don't stop, you give them a technical. In this case, a technical can be a small penalty of some sort. This usually gets the team to stop whatever they are doing. But did the ref/admin do any of this? No, the ref just outright disqualified a team without even giving them a warning or talking it over with them. Nevermind the act of disqualifying, but the act of disqualifying in this manner is completely unjust. Any ref who bans without a warning or technical is one that is doing it solely on the basis of his ego and his personal emotions. If the team got disqualified for talking trash to an opposing team, this would also be an unjust reason for disqualifying. This is a competition. In any competition ever known to man, there has always been some form of trash talking. It comes with the territory. Talking trash doesnt necessarily mean you want to physically harm the other person, it just means you are competitive and you are competing mentally with the other team as well as physically. Since this tourney is happening online, there is no way another player can physically harm another. Any trash talk is simply trash talk in its most innocent and competitive form. For the ref to not understand this, is truly inacceptable. To disqualify for trash talking destroys the integrity of the tourney. For a subjective ref to yield all this power is also unacceptable. There should be a committee of refs that decide on the best action to take, not ONE person. If it's all based on one person, this person can easily make decisions that are ego or selfish based. My advice for the host or sponsor of the next BGH tournament is to ban the referee in question and find someone else who can remain objective and not put his ego above this tourney. Also, if a referee is also a player in the tourney, don't you think it's possible for this person to make decisions that give his team the advantage? To the tourney sponsor, next time find someone else who can do a better job of officiating the game on the merits of the game and not something outside of the game. Have more than one referee who makes the final decision. Never give one person so much power, he will abuse it. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Above all, protect the integrity of the tournament at all costs. This is priority one.

For all the huffing and puffing we have had about disciplinary action in BW during the past few years, I do think this is the first time noone specifically was the one being blamed. Have more than one referee who makes the final decision. There aren't exactly a whole lot of qualified people jumping at the opportunity. Never give one person so much power, he will abuse it. The notion that being a ref in a two day BGH tournament is "absolute power" makes me laugh.

The ref was not in the tournament. So what? the ref was an LRM member, and clearly hates the bgh community. Next time dont pick little girls to ref bgh games This whole tourney turned out to be a disappointment, I dont even care who wins the money, I just wanted to see the best from BGH vs. the best from low money, but I guess my expectations were too high

And of course, when the admins banned the team they get BM'd..no shit..and then they say the excuse for banning is BMing refs.LOL Completely false, I only disqualified his team after two and a half hours of continuous bm.

I simply listed 4 facts. Maybe you are trying to say that one of my facts is wrong (none of them are) but by questioning my logic in a statement that had no conclusions in it, you lost me. IDK maybe i'm just not logical enough to understand your hyper-intelligent rational.
