I've been browsing the internet for my entire teenage life, and have been essentially an introvert for the entirety of my life. I have been a part of this internet 'culture', if you will. No matter where I went on the internet, the dozens if not hundreds of forums I have frequented, I saw the same thing without a doubt. People wondering about women, what they want in a man and why they like 'assholes' which was usually followed by a pitch argument of virgins arguing between their perspective positions. There are generally 3 main arguments associated with this discussion:
1. Women want an aesthetic / hot body and that's all they care about 2. Women are just greedy whores who want your money 3. Women want confidence in a man. It doesn't matter if you're fat, skinny, ripped or a basement dwelling loser -- if you got confidence you can get any girl!
Now these are not inherently wrong, but they are in principle. Women, and most people in general, want one thing -- control. Not to control, but to be controlled. Now I don't mean this in an Orwellian mind control dictator sense, don't get that twisted. Direction could be a better term, perhaps. Let me give an example. It is said in his prime, big Arnold Swarze-I-never-spell-his-name-right-ggar could get any women he wanted into his hotel room within minutes. That he could flex while driving his convertible and get women to flash him. This specimen of everything that is great made women want him by just BEING.
How is this possible, other than him being dashingly sexy? Well, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here. This entire blog is about control, so what the hell am I talking about when I say that?
Control is Ki. Control is Kung Fu. It's Bad Motherfuckerness. It's an indescribable, intangible thing that oozes out of a mans pores to bend the world around him to his will. Control is being the motherfucking One. Control is the grace of God. It is something that is not rational without a deeper insight, and to the outside observer seems almost mystical.
The first principle of Control is discipline. Successful people everywhere have this aspect of discipline. Flash has discipline, he sacrifices many things to achieve his goals. So does Dendi. So does Barack Obama. You can not expect to be able to exert control without first having complete and utter control over yourself. Control yourself, and that Control, that focus, will burst out into the world around you.
"Oh but how do I do this? This seems really vague!"
It begins with ordering your life. I don't give a shit if you're tired or if you want to play a few more games of Starcraft. Get the fuck out of bed and do things at the same time every day unless you do a job that absolutely prohibits it, like an E.R. doctor or something. Which I highly doubt any of you are. No excuses. Once you order your life, you gain focus and purpose and actually get shit done.
Control your diet. No, you're not 'overweight' or 'chubby', you are fat. You too you fucking twigs out there. I don't care how much you want to fit into your moms skinny jeans, you're just a skinny asshole who isn't eating or lifting enough. Do research, you're an internet savvy person and I'm sure you have an above average intelligence. Find out what you need and eat it. You will make sacrifices. You will turn down meals, it will be a massive inconvenience. You will have to bring your own food to college instead of eating at that delicious pizza place. Organize yourself, and have the control to not eat another god damn cheeto. You're reading this on the internet. You probably live in a first world country. You have access to the absolute best nutrition anyone, at any time in human history, has ever had along with the best technology to improve yourself. You have no excuse.
You need to have goals, objectives, and organization. Work towards something at all times in your life. You should never settle. Proles settle. You aren't a Prole.
The second principle of Control is training. You must train. I dont care what the fuck you train FOR, but TRAIN. With a plan, a process, and goals to prescribe to and never deviate from. To track, and improve on. I mentioned Kung-Fu earlier. Kung-Fu isn't beating people up while wearing no shirt. Kung-Fu is a Chinese concept of mastery, it means having great skill in your particular craft. That's right, Dendi has DotA Kung-Fu.
You must become the absolute highest level of human or die trying. It doesn't matter what it is, whether it's running or cycling or swimming or power lifting or an aesthetic body. You must train. Micheal Phelps looks like a goddamn mutant and gets more pussy than you ever have. Seriously, the dude looks like a Manta Ray fucked his mom. Why? That fucker has control, and he has it set for life. He's on the Wheaties box. Bitches love Wheaties.
No matter what you train you NEED to lift weights and you NEED to perform the basic compound lifts.
1. Rising from the earth (Squats, Deadlifts) 2. Pushing out (Bench Press, Dips) 3. Pulling in (Pullups, Rows) 4. Pushing up (Overhead Press)
The basic strength training programs include these. Every single program worth its weight does. Whatever one you choose, just do it long enough to get accustomed to the basics of the lifts until you can begin to mold the accessories to fit your specific goals and work towards them. All these movements demand you be moving a weight, whether it be barbell or dumbell or your entire body perpendicular to gravity or in an arc that places it in a position where its movement can be averaged into a straight line to gravity. If you're not doing this because you're using a shitty machine or doing some stupid program some bullshit class your gym gave you, you're doing something wrong.
The third principle is impossible to define fully. It's not a thing that you do, but it's something you become. Train long enough, schedule long enough, discipline yourself long enough and you begin to get expectations that things will fall into place. When you plan something, it happens, you succeed and your experience and confidence grow. Control incorporates that experience, enhances it, and transcends it. When you have Control, you expect things to happen and they DO, simply because it's been the natural order of things for you. You have learned to control and discipline yourself in every aspect of your life, and now you learn to take charge and have things how you want them. Control is inside of you that other people read and react to instinctively. It's written into our biological code from millions of years of evolution. You follow the one in control.
And it all begins when you grab that barbell and command those hundreds of pounds to RISE, and behold, it raises.
Attain control and you will succeed in every relationship you will ever have, romantic or business or friendship. Interpersonal relationships are the cornerstone of society and where great men build their lives. People who are successful and have control do things that, if a lesser man attempted, would be shut down and laughed at instantly. The man with Control goes in and says no, I'm not going to fill out this form and get it stamped in triplicate. I'm going to be in charge here and you're going to do it because you know, instinctively, I'm better than you, and that I am superior to you.
Back to the women example in the beginning of this blog, Control is absolutely vital when dealing with women. Let me just preface this with, I am not a misogynist. I do not think women are intellectually inferior. I do not think they are genetically inferior. I do not believe they should have less rights. However, the fact remains, we are for the first time in our species' 200,000 year history living in a culture that is united around the world. And in this society, again for really the first time, men are lacking control. It's not by some bullshit government conspiracy, it's simply because men are becoming weaker.
They don't know how to exert control, and women are becoming the driving force. Don't let women decide who you go with, guys. Seriously. You need to find someone, and fucking take them. You need to have the control to take what you want, and you can't let yourself be used. Women have been hardwired through thousands of eons of evolutions to instinctively desire a man with control. The man with control has the aspects of both the "alpha" or "asshole" (physical capability, confidence, individuality) and the benefits of a "beta" (caring, compassionate, understanding, intelligent) while eschewing the negatives. He has power over others, which makes him desirable. He can provide. He lives without seeking a woman's or anyone's approval but his own.
I know this sounds kind of edgy teenager, but he frankly doesn't give a shit. Women, and in extension, the things he enjoys in his life do not "complete" him and without her, or those things, he can revert back to a functioning being of society and move the fuck on.
Control isn't muscles. Men with control may often have muscles, and sometimes they don't; nor do they necessarily have wealth nor any of the other things beta males on the internet speculate women "really" want. Does a man with control have a huge cock? Who cares. Women can't tell how big you are, that's what pants are for. If you have control, your dick is 10 feet long. If you don't, who cares, no one is going to see it anyways.
The way to control is difficult. It demands sacrifice, and if you can't give it then I don't want you passing on your genes anyways.
So get your ass to the gym, load up that barbell and give the most serene prayer to the Lord and let out that growl as you lift something heavy as shit off the ground. There is no God but YOU.
You can be broken or you can fix yourself, the choice is yours. I started out 320lbs and 5'10, and I lost 100lbs in the past few years. I used to never be able to talk to people, let alone women without crushing myself under social anxiety. I never had direction in my life, I always had excuses and I failed in every aspect of my life.
Lifting didn't save my life, eating healthy didn't save my life, and losing weight didn't save my life. What did save my life was me getting control, and using those things as a method to gain control. A TL Knowhow where I go far more into the specifics of dieting and working out may or may not be coming in the next few days by yours truly, but I really wanted to get this out there to get SOMEONE, hopefully anyone, to change their lives around like I did. However I can't expect someone to take my advice I give out in that potential article without them having the control to perform it.
+ Show Spoiler +I was really joking around here, but the general point remains the same that I wanted to make. If I seriously offended someone for whatever reason, it's all in good humor ^^ Get control of your life, and get your shit in order. I know there's someone out there who will benefit from this and that's all I care about

Your generalization about women isn't any better than the ones you listed at the start.
Besides that, I agree with most of your blog.

Generalizations?
Beyond the clear joking attitude, I said a woman wants a man who is in control. A man who has control over his emotions, his body, and his life. A man who can provide, a man who doesn't latch himself onto them and rely on them for support. A man who can take the aggressive aspects of human nature and the passive ones and achieve balance. Women are hard wired to want men who are in control of themselves over men who aren't. That isn't a generalization. It's a biological and sociological fact.
This article isn't "how to pick up chicks", it was merely an example to get my point across that the key to a successful life is getting control over your life. Because we live in a society where men are losing control of themselves and letting many outside sources control what they think and want instead of using themselves to answer those questions.

But this is how life has always been. Men who have self-discipline are a minority, and that is being generous.

And that's a horrible, shameful thing that I wish to reverse as much as possible. I refuse to let ignorance be a reason people have a shit life and no direction. I personally feel like it's being exponentially increased in severity though with the onset of being an internet addict becoming "cool"

The best thing you can do is be the living embodiment of what you advocate.

Ok, I'm getting a better sense for what you mean. When I read:
Women, and most people in general, want one thing -- control. Not to control, but to be controlled. it seemed like you were saying that women have the inability to be independent or self-reliant, but I think I misinterpreted. I still disagree with the notion that all women make logical choices based on whether or not a guy is in "control." I think plenty of people could give you anecdotes of women who were attracted to guys who were clearly NOT in control (addicts, for example). I think you give a little too much credence to biological "hard-wiring," and perhaps not enough to the clusterfuck of influences that is our sociological upbringing. I do agree that taking control of your life is generally positive, as long as you don't let it become an obsession (e.g. anorexia, bulimia). I suppose you would argue that at that point, the person is no longer in control.

I can't get behind "power over others". Do you really want this? If so, why?

I don't get the question.
Are you asking why I would want to be an influential person? I dont know if I worded that wrong but I'm not shooting for a powergrab because I want to "control" people. I would however like to have such control over myself that my ability to influence each other is significantly increased, however. I dont know how anyone wouldn't want to have some level of influence over those around them.

I guess that I associate the word "power" with force. I think that influence is inevitable when you're actually doing something right. I got a bit caught up in your language.

I was half with you until you said that weight lifting was a critical part of life. Enough exercise to stay healthy is good - but beyond that there are many other things worth taking seriously.

I lift weights 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week. 1 hour and 30 minutes of weightlifting a WEEK.
It is not a time consuming activity, that doesn't make it not an integral one however. There simply is nothing to substitute it in terms of putting your body into physical shape. There's a reason every athlete from swimmers to basketball players lift weights in some fashion. You're right, weight lifting isn't a critical part of life nor should it be. However, being healthy should be a critical part of life, and weight lifting is one of the best, if not the best way to stay physically healthy. It's simply a means to an end.
I believe heavily in balance. Reading should be balanced with lifting, and neither should be mutually exclusive. ^^

Here's a few things to substitute: Playing with your kids, dancing all night long, hiking up a mountain, riding up some hills, climbing a cliff face, maintaining a garden, skating around town. I could go on forever.

But most people aren't athletes - nor are they trying to be. Is it one of the best ways to stay healthy? I've never heard that before - any time a doctor has mentioned exercise to me, they talk about lighter stuff than weightlifting.
According to this TED talk the longest lived people in the world also just do light exercise - stuff like manually doing housework, walks, and generally not living in cars (as well as balanced diets and having close networks of friends)
TED TALK on long life
You should try not to do stuff as a means to an end - the means should be an end in itself, or you'll never keep it up.

"Means to an end" can be risky. The "end" just might not be what you'd hoped for after you've toiled through the "means". Love the "means" and the risk is gone.
