EPTI was watching some of the MLG Vods and replay packs so I can get better at my game. Lately i’ve been thinking of going down to Dallas to visit a couple of my friends/teammates of mine. I was also thinking since I’m poor already I would want to buy myself and my friend a competitor pass. But since I’m only in Gold League, I could never make it out to the first round so I’ll just buy my friend a competitor pass.
I did compete at MLG though pre-starcraft 2 and during starcraft 2. I played for my team at MLG Meadowlands in Halo but I was a bench warmer, technically. You know you do a great job when you’re part of a team that competes at Halo but you know you suck at it when you’re just a benchwarmer and you can only watch them make mistakes. I didn't mind at all though because I loved being at MLG and the atmosphere was just full of people I like being around with.
My team didn't make it to the finals and were kicked out of the second day. Not knocked out, KICKED OUT. My teammate and the other teams did a large-amount of trash talking to the point it was heated up. By the time we won the first round they fought. Everyone tried to stop the fight but I ran to the bathroom before anything did happen. By the time I got back I said to myself “Where the hell did they go?” I was still in my jersey and people were staring at me as if i was involved but I was the guy who went to the bathroom.
They called me and we met up at Cheeseburger Paradise because that’s an obviously good place to cool down. It was karaoke night and I remember the lights flickering when people were singing Journey’s famous song “Don’t Stop Believing.” It was awkward because my friend who started the fight was still pissed off. So we bought him a burger that was very mediocre. I bought a delicious burger myself. We made fun of the people who started the fight the way friends make fun of people to make them happy.
Then the people we had a fight with comes in Cheeseburger Paradise. It was very awkward as well because they come in at the same time as the song “Til I Collapse” that was originally sung by 50 Cent and Eminem but the cover was by drunk frat guys that had Buccaneers jersey and Jets jersey and were with their drunk frat dates. The team we had a fight with noticed us, we noticed them and I really didn't want to get into a fight again especially since the first fight that I wasn't even a part of.
My team captain said to calm down and we should just leave. Everyone agreed but I disagreed because I made a valid point. I said “But I want to finish my delicious burger.”
