My name is Tim Bowen, 26 years old, current leader/manager of Team sMi (liquipedia page). I've been around the SC scene since 2000, and started to get into the competitive scene in 2002. Eventually I helped with the formation of sMi in 2005 as one of the original members. I've led the team for a long time, although I took a haitus from all things SC for about 2-3 years from 2009 to 2011. I was a member of the USA-B National team as a 2v2 member in SC:BW from 2007-2009. I think that's enough about me.
What I'm looking for:
CW Manager
Currently, I'm the only one really doing that much for the team. Working in real life and trying to run an SC2 team isn't an easy task. I'm starting to have trouble setting up CWs for our guys to consistently compete in. I do my best to get us at least one CW a week and get us into as many team leagues that I think we can handle. Our players are all high masters-GM level. I'm looking for one person who thinks they have the time to organize CWs with other teams, find out about upcoming team leagues and team league qualifiers. The person needs to be organized and be able to communicate with me directly.
If you think this is something you can do, or have experience doing this, please send me a PM with the application filled out from the bottom of this post.
News Writer
I'm currently looking for someone who knows HTML, BBCode, has solid English grammar, and can write up news content to our site's front page on a regular basis. The news doesn't have to be only about our team; it can be about something big that has happened in the scene if you think our team and community members will find it interesting.
If you think this is something you can do, or have experience doing this, please send me a PM with the application filled out from the bottom of this post.
Coaches
Right now our players don't really have any coaches. What I want is people who are, at the very least, master players that can help with our current starters and non-starters. You would be going over replays with them, helping them by pointing out things that they could have done better, help them tweak builds they're trying out, etc. The person/people may need to help players that aren't of the same main race as the coach. A great understanding of the game is needed. I would like for coaches to be able to have a coaching session with individuals at least twice a week.
If you think this is something you can do, or have experience doing this, please send me a PM with the application filled out from the bottom of this post.
What's in it for you?
You would be helping out one of the premier NA amateur teams. You'd gain great experience for any future goals you may have regarding the position you'll be doing. Can we pay you? No, unfortunately, we can't right now. Please remember that this is a great team with a lot of great history to it from SC:BW, just look at our former player list on our liquipedia page.
Coaches may get the opportunity to be sent to MLGs to assist players on the team that are attending.
