Howdy there and welcome to the top 50 streamers list thread for this month!
For those of you who don't already know what this is about: I'm gathering various data from all the streams that are presented on teamliquid.net (viewers, game, events, etc.) and use that data to produce the pretty tables you see below. The tables only contain SC2 players (that is, people streaming games of Starcraft 2 being played by themselves) and not casters, teams or other streams. The tables also only contain Starcraft 2 related activities, a SC2 streamer streaming Dota2 or other games is not being taken into account.
Since there was no clear winner from last month's poll on which ranking to use (sorting by total viewers vs. sorting by viewers*hours streamed), and a lot of people said they'd like to see both, that's just what I'll do from now on. I was not sure about the viewers*hours ranking at first, but in the end it has not favored streamers who stream a lot as much as I feared. Still, there are more streamers on that ranking that are not featured than on the other ranking, but that does not have to be a bad thing.
Oh, also, go and check out soiii's site http://sc2streamnumbers.com/ where you can check out detailed graphs of stream viewers of every stream. (Thread here). Please go and check it out, it's pretty awesome. I thought about doing something like that at some point, but soiii did it way better and prettier than I could've ever done.
Now, without further ado, here's this month's tables: (The HTML versions contain some more information due to space reasons.)
Some stray observations:
- Stephano didn't stream enough in the last month, so this time there's no Stephano vs. Idra battle about who has the most average viewers. Idra wins by forfeit.
- Some other notable absentees for this month: Ret, DongRaeGu, HayprO, Polt, NesTea, Mvp, Jinro.
- More and more Teamless players seem to get into the top 50. Congrats!
- Hui isn't the craziest streamer any more! He only streamed for 206 hours last month. ProTech, on the other hand, streamed for a whopping 347 hours! That's.. kinda crazy.
- Congrats also to EG for having six players in the average viewers ranking, not to mention occupying the first two spots!
That's all I can think of for now. Hope you guys enjoyed!

As far as i remember he isn't featured, he is just under the Other section. So perhaps you have your stream sidebar settings set too not show Un-Featured streams.

Oh and, someone called Protech streamed for 350 hours? Damn.

True but TL, reddit/sc2, battle.net/sc2 etc have all seen a decline in traffic the last year. 2011 was a much better year in terms of viewership than 2012.
eSports SC2 isent spreading around like wildfire as some would have you believe, stream numbers for tournaments are also down.
HotS will luckily give the scene a shot in the arm

Destiny fell from his empire on top. I guess because of HSC?

wish thorzain would stream more

I just think right now Sc2 is in a bit of a lull, people are on vacation etc. etc. There were a SHIT TON of tournaments in July so I don't see why anyone would watch a personal stream rather than any one of the huge tournaments on every weekend .

Duh? It's impossible to keep the growth that SC2 had at the beginning. Of course it's going to slow down.

Hmm, when I watched IdrA he was 14500 and I think it went a bit higher

ForGG streamed for 130+ hours? That's crazy high for a GSL level Korean player. I wonder how that affects his practice.

Not gonna lie, I never realized that Apollo had that popular of a stream. Good for him though, one of my favorite casters.
|
wow dragon is really making some money as he has most views over the previous month.

I've never actually seen Thorzain stream :o Must not be paying enough attention lol.
