In case everyone has forgot, TeamLiquid does have an IRC channel, which you can get to by opening up mIRC or whichever program you use, and log onto QuakeNet, and go to #teamliquid
If you're too lazy for that, look on the right side of this site, and click the link.
Theres always 28-50 people daily in the channel, so feel free to stop by and chat with the rest of us.
We currently have 33 people in the room. Some of the kewl people you will see there are Ilvy, Carnac, Squall, Trek, and not me.

quakenet is not exactly the best network (for example it net splits a lot more than many other networks), but gaming wise it is by far the most popular, so it is the best compromise, this is why we went to quakenet.

so it moved to quakenet and its more popular now
hot_bid: quakenet is an irc server, just like gamesurge you can have different channels on different servers its actually pretty much like bnet

It's just different networks, Hot_Bid. Each with several servers, to try a decent analogy, imagine quakenet as US WEST with different channels and gamesurge as US EAST with different channels. You can connect to multiple networks at once though, unlike in bnet, they will then just appear as different windows within the same program.

QuakeNet is the biggest network so I think it makes perfect sence to be on there. And yea it has servers all over the world. If you want a server with no net splits then maybe use a small but reliable network. As many users may be using IRC for the first time and may not allready be QuakeNet users this may not matter for most as they dont mind which server they are on.
But for now - Its on QuakeNet and will be for the forcible future.
