I don't know what you're arguing about... you don't seem to either. There was never an argument to begin with...
If you have a membrane keyboard, different keys will feel different because each key has been typed a different number of times. All membrane keyboards feel differently because of this point, even if we're talking about the same quality keyboard.
If you have a mechanical keyboard, the switch will feel exactly the same. It will only differ depending on the keyboard.
So yes, membrane keyboards will feel different, even if they're the exact same keyboard. A mechanical keyboard will feel the same.

I want to go for a checkered look so I can get either transparent keycaps and let the white LED do the work or get white ABS keycaps. Any chance anyone can help me out and show me pictures of both? <3 my ducky shine as well. As far as I know i don't think they make those at the moment. The key caps on the keyboard now are supposed to be some kind of double ABS key caps, lol whether the were made extra strong or not i don't know. I've looked at the construction of the current caps and it looks like it's just some white caps with a black paint on top of it. They probably laser etched the caps to show the letters. I also what to get some transparent-white caps. All of the solid keys that i have seen look to thick to let the light through. But what you could do, is since these are ABS keys you could remove the finish off the top of them and if you want letters either just paint the letters on yourself or you can find stickers of the letters. But I'm not sure how to do it safely. Per Wikipedia= "ABS is derived from acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene. Acrylonitrile is a synthetic monomer produced from propylene and ammonia; butadiene is a petroleum hydrocarbon obtained from the C4 fraction of steam cracking; styrene monomer is made by dehydrogenation of ethyl benzene — a hydrocarbon obtained in the reaction of ethylene and benzene." "ABS polymers are resistant to aqueous acids, alkalis, concentrated hydrochloric and phosphoric acids, alcohols and animal, vegetable and mineral oils, but they are swollen by glacial acetic acid, carbon tetrachloride and aromatic hydrocarbons and are attacked by concentrated sulfuric and nitric acids. They are soluble in esters, ketones, ethylene dichloride and acetone" Lol my finger is already removing the finish off of my "a" key. Not sure if I'm a bum or just don't want to f-!@ up my keyboard but I'm just gonna wait for something i know that works. They seem to do translucent doubleshots, but I can't find a group buy for them.

There are google image pics of white keycaps on backlit keys, the 2nd one being a Ducky Shine.

I just saw this today. Darn you people for making me want to try to find key caps lol. But if you go here http://keycapsdirect.com/key-capswhatsnew.php
It looks this company is starting to offer custom back-lit keys. The 4th thing down on the list. But the dreaded words "Contact customer service today to discuss your custom needs!" are included. Which means its probably really expensive. =(

Signature Plastics (the parent corporation of that site) is very very good and very reasonably priced for what you get. Almost all of the American groupbuys are organized through that site. The only gripe I ahve with them is that they have a lower profile than the stock keys I got with my Ducky board and I'm reticent to shuffle them into my setup because of the height difference.
Email their customer support for more information as they are very helpful and informative. I asked them for information on some blank keycaps and they emailed me back with the pricing info and went the extra mile to make me aware of the profile difference. Excellent and prompt customer support all-in-all.

Anyone got Razer Blackwidow with custom keycaps?

They do have some stuff in stock for reasonable prices, in addition to doing custom orders.
Melissa is really awesome prompt at replying to emails. Don't be shy.

Holy! I thought nothing would beat the cream cheese & green one in this thread but you sir did it, I'm going to shamelessly copy that with this months salary. Probably orange or yellow instead of blue though.

Cherry red tenkeyless below.

Not really. It was a group order on geekhack.org recently. There might be some extras available. Not sure.

Hey fellow cap lovers!
I'm heading up a groupbuy of TL and SC2 related fare over at Geekhack.org and wanted to see if any TLers would be interested in participating. All the details can be found at the Geekhack Thread.
Some examples of what I'm going for would be the custom engraved TL keys we've seen already such as:
And a custom Zerg numpad that would look something like this:
If you have any questions don't hesitate to PM me!!
