The Edmonton Puck Bunny contingent will ensure that Yak never goes to the KHL. Sloppy vag and cheap beer at the Strathcona Hotel followed by street-vendor hot-dogs. What's not to love.

Where is Greg Jamison and his "investment group" ?
Its time for an opportunistic GM to pick the meat off of this dying desert dog.
If Burke wants to earn some respect for his tenure in Toronto he must go after
Doan, Langkow, Rozsival, Aucoin et al. isn't Goldwater institute holding everything up? supposedly the arena deal between the coyotes and the city of glendale is done.
The arena deal takes 30 days to come into effect and will do so on July 8. During this time hte citizens of Glendale can put together a petition of ~1,900 people and this will force the agreement to be decided by referendum in November.
Greg Jamison has no money. That is the hold up.
In the past the NHL was happy to manage the arena and keep the team with $25 million being sent their way. This is not the case this year. The big question is, how much money will the NHL continue to lose on the Phoenix Coyotes before deciding they've had enough.
Peladeau has a clear interest in the team. However, he is an M&A specialist and he can smell the blood in the water. Peladeau will pay a low price. The NHL will never publicly admit how low the price is that Peladeau manages to get.
Its time for Burke to start tampering with every Coyotes free agent.

He's supposedly pretty good as an assistant.
Now they need to get him in the hall where he belongs. Fuck the hall if he doesn't get in this year. Sakic, Lindros, Bure, Oates!
|
If Eric Lindros gets in the hall.....what the fuck.

Him being a dick not withstanding, why shouldn't Lindros get in the hall? For a five year period or so, he was the very best player in the league. He's got HOF numbers by a mile. It's just that he is regarded as a huge cockbag for his situation in Quebec and then the escape from Philly.
Shanny I want in, but I find it hard to get him in on one shot. One of my favorite players, great numbers, but a bit off from a PPG. He was always great for many years, pretty much the definition of power forward for a long time, but I don't think he was ever really the best at his position. Damn close though.
Bure and Lindros snubs blow my mind. Best scorer of the generation vs probably best all around talent. Oates was also the best assist man not named gretzky. #4 all time, I think. I can see arguments against all three being first time ups, but they're due.
If Sundin gets in on one shot I will be fucking pissed.
Sakic is the only new guy who should be an absolute first ballot HOFer
|
Lindros didn't have a long enough career to get in the hall, he might have been the best player in the league for 2 years, not 5. No cups, and he's nowhere close to 1000 points for his career. Go check out the forwards that are in the hall. He just doesn't stack up. Larry Murphy has like 500 more points than his does playing defense.
I'd hope that his being a dicknose doesn't enter into the equation, but whatever secret panel votes certainly has a few humans on it!

From an article I just read on Bure, which attempts to knock the 'didnt play enough/long enough' thing out of the park
'Bure’s career to 702 games, which is about the same length as Bossy (752 games), Cam Neely (726 games) and Bobby Orr (657 games)'
The dude had a five year window or so where he just absolutely crushed the league when healthy. Out of a period where there was a lot of very good forwards, no one could take control of a game like he could. He could score, he could dish and he could physically pummel opponents. Most guys had one or two of those qualities, but not all three.
He was a generational talent, without a doubt. He's got the PPG, enough longevity as other HOFers. He's certianly better than fringe guys like Neely and Glenn Fucking Anderson. I dunno, it's nuts to me to not include him. It's not as if he'd be a first ballot guy. I can maybe see an argument against that.

Just read elsewhere, but didn't see a confirmation: Oates, Sakic, Sundin, Bure
Sundin as a first ballot is so incredibly retarded. I'd have figured Shanny over him. I'd have prefered Lindros this year, and Shanny the next. I don't think Shanny is first. But a good but not great player gets in without cups because he played in toronto pfffttttt

So that's who is on the ballot? How many will get in? Need a percentage?

It's 4 players that get in every year. I forget how many coaches/builders. I hope Burns gets in.

I wish they'd have inducted him last year, those motherfuckers.
